Large Jill - Advice Needed

I picked up my new jill yesterday. She is 6 months old and massive. She is very large around the stomache but i think this is just fat. If i give her a lot of exercise do you think she will be able to get to a decent size and actualy pass through the nets without pulling them to pieces?

Are you sure its just not a decent winter coat.

A couple of my wee jills look mahoosive at the mo, but its just cos the cold weather recently has given them a bushy coat.

If you think there fat, wxercise them alot and cut their feeding.

Its definitely not her winter coat. I will cut her feeding and exercise her and let you know how I get on. Thanks

it was probely eating mostly dry food mate cut down on that and plenty of excerise that should help abit or she might just be a big breed jill atb the ferreter

Yes she was fed on just dry food. I will just feed her on meat and give her some exercise and let you know how things go. I do hope that she gets small or she's just going to pull the nets down.

ferrets can really pack on the weight in their first winter...and certainly a proper diet will help...

 

she should naturally lose up to 1/3 of that come spring and next winter wont get nearly so big anyways...

Once shes out working every week the weight should fall off her

She will soon trim down a bit mate when she starts working but a little bit of tub wont hurt her

she will soon work most of it off they need a little bit of tub to keep em warm in this weather

Got one of this years that's exactly the same the sooner you get her out the better mate!
