Yes Bitches can and do get Mastitis. Most common in cows and ewes but in lots of other animals including dogs

Antibiotics are best, get her checked out if there is a lot of inflammation of the teats.

If the teats are swollen, hard, hot to the touch or painful to the touch, then it could well be the start of mastitis, its very common, especially once the pups are up and about and able to scratch and bite the mothers teats.

Fire a course of synulox into her ASAP and that will sort it, I had a bitch who started to get a hot, swollen teat and I gave her synulox straight away as soon as I spotted it and it vanished within hours, one tablet was enough to start the process and she didnt have any problems after that and she went on to suckle her pups for another 2 weeks before her milk dried up. :good:
