should stalking be made cheaper?

Recommended Posts

It's no wonder people enjoy poaching deer with dogs with some of the attitudes on display in this thread, not just for the sport but the thought of getting one over...

Long may it continue.

It's not for sport or geting one over on anyone, they do it for a living and it's serious business, mil spec nv goggles, 4 wheel drives with 4 dogs in, there are often support vehicles as well. It's not 1 for the pot or the romantic type of poacher it sounds like you are picturing it's organised crime and it's got nothing to do with class or enjoyment, it's money. Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about to me.

I doubt very much if all deer poaching is the sort that you're trying to make it out to be, I reckon not even half of it is.

You say I don't know what I'm taking about? I think your statement reads as if it was written by somebody who believes everything they read in the press and sees on the BBC news.

My statement can read however you want to take it but it is the voice of experience, it's from someone who believes what they see with their own eyes. In fact I'm just about to go to bed now after being out all night so learn from your mistake here and don't jump to conclusions. :whistling:

[quote name='foxdropper' post='1271702' So its in black and white, therefore must be true .Wet behind the ears springs to mind :icon_eek:

If you cant afford it ,tough .Leave it to those who can and tip the stalker properly :tongue2:

Long may the class divide be there to keep the Nesbits off the hill i say :victory:

That's an interesting perspective. This (deer overpopulation) problem also exist over here. Many private land owners like wise don't want strangers hunting their land. Or, they are anti's, or they lease the land to someone. The deer numbers are too high causing auto accidents, crop damage, and devistate the natural habitat. I'm a working man and I could get tags for upto five does and two bucks every year if I had access.

Your Professor MacMillan seems to have a handle on the problem His solution deserves to be tried in the interest of proper game management. If it pisses off a couple rich guys. All the better. ;)

Good luck sorting it out guys!

hi mickey

nice to read your views

i to think something needs to change, the damage done to young tree plantations is costing forestry commissions thousands of pounds all because people cant get out there to control deer numbers

as for the man that said about the class divide well that's just a we bit sad

i for one am looking forward to reasonable priced stalking in the near future

Kirky may i correct you it is costing the British public over 15 million on deer control. 10 million plus in Scotland alone. So the next time you look a your wages think of the tax that payed for deer contrl and your no loud to walk the ground with a fire arm.
