poacher3161 1,766
Well its something i dont participate in but while pike fishing the other winter i left some lamprey on top of the cool bag and a big rat came within 12 foot of me and grabed it and made of with it and i had not seen a rat till i had left that lamprey out.You can buy lamprey oils from fishing tackle shops it might be worth a try.atb dell Quote Link to post
Deker 3,450
You will only find what works best on each site by trial and error, much DOES for ratty, chocolate is always a good starting point. They have NO taste buds but they do have a good nose, so generally best to keep it smelly! Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Well lads i have read all your posts and i think that i will try the following: Cat food, Chocolate, Peanut butter, Sadines all mixed up in a liquidizer. Going on what you all have tried and what seems to work I will have the ideal rat bait, something smelly and tastey. Festa gave me some rat traps that go in boxes a month or 2 back so i might just try the above and set them as part of my new vermin control DVD. If it works i'll put up a post.
