If they dont have anything in your price range they will be able to advise you on what you need for the task at hand. Getting anything worth shooting for 60 pound means you're either one hell of a hustler or one hell of a price negotiator. Both cases will probably mean you'll have a little more money to spend then just 60 quid, or you're going awfully dutch... and i know all about them dutch! Airgun hunting isn't allowed in the Netherlands, but plinking and shooting em in your backyard usually is. Using a well-tuned Weihrauch myself i can hit quite consistently a euro 2cent coin at 50 yards. Yeah yeah, you use pounds but trust me that it's small...... Cost me around 400 euros in total, but then again, prices are inflated over here. Not sure by the way how much pounds that is, but if a pound is not at around 6 euro's then you might want to wait a birthday or two, or join the newspaper-delivery brigade. No woodpigeon is worth getting shot with a 60 quid weapon. Besides.. they're tough tortels, they'll be flying off most of the time, and only have the strength left to flip you one of their species and then die an agonizing death over the next week or so. just my two cents. mjr88 50 Posted July 14, 2009 Report Share Posted July 14, 2009 (edited) MontyMarcroft On a serious note , the problem you have is that the country woodpigeon has got bloody good eyesight and even if you spent a fortune on an air rifle you would have problems trying to sneak up on them . On this matter i have some experience . Before i went down the route of Fac's , Rimfires , shotguns i always used a legal limit air rifle (12ft 11bs) for over 30 years . In my opinion the best kind of air rifle for any small game would be a pcp ( precharged pneumatic ) due to the lack of recoil and i think you would struggle to get a decent one for around the £60 mark. Most of my air rifle shooting was aimed at small quarry such as Rats , Squirrels , Rabbits , Hares and the occasional day of roost shooting for crows. Why not spend you 60 or 70 quid on a good second hand springer and stick with the small game as i've mentioned above , because IMHO you will have much more success , John Edited July 14, 2009 by mjr88 Quote Link to post
