  1. Whilst evereyone else was nursing their hangovers Treehands and myself had an early morning hour on a few rats around the farm buildings locally, took a couple of young dogs along to show them how it's done properly ! Happy new year to all you dog men out there, good hunting !
  2. Isle of Islay for me, been 3 times with work, hope to return soon for a holiday- fantastic scenery, wildlife, beaches with pure white sand for miles, awesome place !
  3. Very impressed with the little "ferret dogs" today, tremendous work rate for such small dogs, great to watch them tackle rats almost there size!, terrific turn of speed and flexibility, great sport to watch
  4. Bought a synthetic one in .177 last week, scoped up and tested it with a few magazines fired, it's definitely diferent to what I'm used too, I am enjoying it but finding it noisey due to the action being so much closer to your face than my HW100, I think I'll get used to it, just need to get out with it in the field over the next few days. Value for money for what they are, hopefully it'll be hardwareing as its intend to be a knock about rifle, I've put a Weihrauch silencer on mine, makes it a touch longer but still very well balanced and comfortable. I'd be interested to hear of others exp
  5. Go completely back to basics- start again to establish the respect you require- use of doors/gates etc with you going first and dog follows to establish that respect. Recall from short distance untill you get perfection, small steps building upwards until you achieve your goal, unfortunately you shouldn't be in this position if you had of got it right first time, but it's not too late, patience required ! A good tip is putting slight pressure on foot of dog ( aversion therapy) to achieve release with a suitable command at same time, consistent commands unti dog understands the command
  6. Great show, ran like clockwork, obviously lot of preparation put in behind the scenes, weather very kind to us all, very enjoyable day had by all- dog stewards were exceptional !!!
  7. The article on radio 5 was referring to the outcome of the inquiry from the incident In February when a foxhound was deliberately run over by a patrol car, no further action to be taken against the officers involved? What a suprise, pure cruelty from those that are meant to know right from wrong? Modern technology that is available to slow traffic down is available on this stretch of carriageway and late at night the risk to other road users is considably less than day time, such a bad decision that has been shown to the general public- no outcry from the do-gooders as yet ?!!!!
  8. Thanks for that, wanted to stop and read it but there was a line of traffic behind me that I was holding up as I drove out of show field, I'll make a point of reading the plaque next time.
  9. Excellent show, really enjoyed the day, even if the rain did come down too early, well laid out and very friendly atmosphere, sat nav led us astray but we didn't miss too much thankfully. Spotted a monument on the way out near the kennels does anybody know what this was ?
  10. Excellent photos, what have you taken them with ? If it was Clee hill you would have seen a couple of large white golf ball type structures up at the top, couldn't of missed them, dogs look in really good condition, what's the breeding in them ?

    Apple Watch

I bought a black sports one when they first came out, loved it but it was completely unecessary and gimmicky, handy for briefly reading messages etc and replying fast but not really that useful. I wore my all the time but I noticed a small crack on the screen one day, next morning it was right across the face, unable to use any longer, apples backup is awesome, very well developed, no fuss, new one arrived, old one sent back without hardly a delay (I had the watch insured) now I don't wear it as much invade I damage it again, only use it when not likely to get knocked, keep my Seiko kinetic wa
  12. That clip will open flood gates for more idiots to report people who hunt, would of been nice to hear a comment after footage to say " not all hunting is illegal and it is perfectly legitimate to own and partake in field sports with dogs" but nothing at all- just makes us all out to be criminals ? Typical one sided bbc drivel put out to a massive audience at a time of large audience viewing. Very very sad and unprofessional - they wouldn't get away with it on any other subject , there would have to be a counter balance argument, can't believe how blunt a message that was to the mass audience,
  13. You want to try and drive a 44tonne truck and see their behaviour around motorway junctions! So common being cut up by them now that part of checks approaching slip roads is looking and thinking for them as they cut right in front of you and off up the slip road with complete disregard for your safety let alone their own ? The standard of driving is so poor it is unbelievable, no consideration at all for other road users, not isolated to certain age groups or sexes- they are all dangerous and scare me each day, ignorant arrogant and stupid !
  14. Back out on the game crops now the season has finished, been that busy on other permissions our annual trip on this shoot has had to wait longer than usual, certainly worth waiting for though, keeper joined us with his terrier to make the team upto 4 experienced ratters and my pup watching all the action ! All rats marked and dug out the loamy soil, few bolters, most gave the dogs a challenge, fantastic fun on a warm sunny day. Friendly rivalry over quickest dog to kill, all excellent and well experienced but my money is always on Treehands' Cock Russell bitch, she is fantastic at being in t
  15. The small dog is my young pup, she was in the pickup during all the action, just let out a few times, this time to get in on the photos !She has accompanied us a couple of times to observe the other dogs digging rats out, too early to expect her to get stuck in, already ragging the dead rats, showing a bit of spirit !!
