  1. I take it ye don't like hole ending then ha, when I said I gave the pup a look I didn't mean a hole end, he did nothing only look from a bit of a distance, so would ye class it as self entering and finding and what are both your thoughts on the age he at now??
  2. Ye Leethedog have to say it was, problem now is not to get over excited and burn him out I suppose. But must say I'm trilled, after lot of feeding and walking rubbing and talking and thinking will it happen it has. Worth the wait. Will put one up when I get home no problem.
  3. I started this tread a while back but never kept up with it, Sako is now just heading for 16mts, so anyway about three weeks ago I brought the pup out with my friend and his dogs and had a dig and just gave the pup a look at what was going on must say he was hyped, last Saturday I brought him out again when we come to one earth he said do you want to give him his first chance I agreed we would give it a go, let him off the lead, he had a good sniff around and then went in to my delight, after a couple of minutes he returned but went straight back in, then a short wait and we could hear the ban
  4. Bananas as the potassium is a natural cure for hangovers, scientifically proven.
  5. No it not that I'm eager to enter the pup I am giving him plenty of time, I was just describing what he does while I have him out walking, as I'm not sure of what are positive or negative signs. Thanks for all the good advice do much appreciated.
  6. its not a case of the dog being held back, it's a case of I'm holding the dog back, if you get my meaning, as I said I'm new to this so I'm trying to read a lot and gather as much info as I can so we're both ready to go to ground together. And do the job right.
  7. I will let see another dog work in time not just yet. Neill Cooney ye that was the idea with the walks just letting him be adventures and explore as long as it's doing him good I hope. I'm not going to try force anything on him and just be patient. Fingers crossed hay.
  8. Collar check just in case. As its my first pup were both going through the learning process.
  9. Over the last number of weeks I've been bringing my 12mth pup for longer and better walks, I've started to notice he is picking up a lot more scent and trailing it through cover etc everything looks positive, as it's just casual nothing pushy. He has followed scent to earths is well and will enter the earth till the tip of the tail is in then just pauses and waits few seconds and comes back out and carries on smelling around. Is this anything I should be concerned with or just leave well enough alone for now. As I said before their has been no pressure, I've just been letting the pup do his ow
