Mac, tell your son to be careful that he doesn't overdo the running with weights. Over time it can knacker his knees and back and is likely to lead to shin splints. He will do enough running with weight once he's in. Ask him to ask his coach about fartlek training. One of the best ways to increase stamina and endurance. All the best.

What sort of problems have you be having with your dog? If it's chewing and the likes then I would look at getting a crate for her to go in and leave her in the house.

We've been in France since last July and loving every second. I'm not sure what type of shooting I want to do, don't think it will be airguns as my speciality was HFT and that became too much physically for me, and anyway there doesn't seem to be any of that locally. Joining a 'chasse' might be a problem with my limited French, so it looks like target shooting with .22lr rifle, something I've done in the past, or pistol speed shooting, quite fancy that.
