  1. i appreciate with any dog you have to put the time in i do. i just need to think long and hard on whats the best option for me and of course the dog. just trying to find out as much as i can before making my decision. its a big commitment. ideally i want to end up eventually with a good working dog. either raised from a pup or rescued it will have to be trained alot.   8. its not coming from a rescue center though if that makes any difference. the owner does work it i haven't seen it but i have heard about it from a friend. i do get what your saying its better to have a pup but are they not quite a lot of hard work and not a lot of watching ?
  9. its not bad. its got a bit of gourse where rabbits have been burrowing. its a u shaped valley so quite hilly

  11. no honestly not man. im not an expert its obvious im keen to get advice though i appreciate it all i really do. im just saying that dog i had was really hard to get to hunt and i gived up eventually. of course i didnt know enough of what i was doing. but im asking for future reference
  12. thanks mate. i rehomed her. she went to a couple who where very friendly and felt like she would be more happy with them. but i hope to have another lurcher soon i aappreciateany advice you can give me.
  13. i tried that one but she was too nervous of other dogs. like i said she was pretty soft.
  14. i had to rehome her because of certain circumstances. but im asking so i know in future what i should really be doing with the dog. im always grateful for tips and advice. hopefully be getting another dog soon so want to be prepared.

  16. right. how do you encourage them to catch them and bring them back. she showed no interest in actually catching them she just loved the chase
  17. hello everyone i was hoping yous could help me with a question. i had this lurcher fast as out lovely dog she was from a rescue center and quite soft. i really struggled to train her for hunting she loved to chase rabbits but when she caught them up she didnt know what to do. so my question is how do you get that lurcher to kill rabbits?. i tried chucking dead rabbits for her to be curious nothing so any tips would be great thanks
  18. thanks. i have had a lurcher before what i had rescued but she didnt have that kill instinct i needed. she loved to chase but didnt know what to do when she caught up with it.
  19. Hello all I was wondering if I could get advice on what breed of dog would be suitable for a youngish man. Preferably a type what are quite easily trained and got that natural kill instinct. I would like a dog for rabbiting. Please advise thanks

  23. Hello. Very keen to learn all I can in hunting. Done quite a lot of ferreting and some shooting. Always up for any tips.
