    Crying out loud @Bush Rummagercant believe what I’ve just read… You’ve done a right old job on yourself there fella, glad you managed to get home safe and sound.. Just goes to show how easily things can go tits up… Hope you’re on the mend soon pal and back out on the hills. Looks a super spot and what would’ve been a great camp apart from the injury.

    They give me the creeps mate, I’ve not myself heard of anyone been bitten by one but I reckon there’ll be a lot more than we think or here about.. Seen a video of a very large female adder scaling a dry stone wall in the Lake District, must’ve been a good 4ft long and plenty girth too - I’d be heading in the opposite direction if I’d have been there.

    Cheers buddy, weather is amazing up here, couldn’t have asked for better… Done Snowdon a few years ago and in all honesty it beats Ben Nevis in my opinion… Tell your young’n I send the best of luck, I’m sure they’ll enjoy every minute as it’s something special ?

    Fort William for the week mate and the weather is spectacular… Just took the Mountain Path (Tourist route), set off early doors and not too bad going up but 26° heat all the way down zapped the energy levels…

    Quality @Bush Rummager, great to see you out and about wild camping, it’s not everyone’s cuppa tea so hope it’s lived up to expectations for you and your mate… I’m laughing with regards to pack weight as we’ve all been there, it’s not too bad from the house to the car or a flat couple miles but when the inclines start you sharp know you’re carrying some weight - like anything though, the more regular you get out on the hills/mountains and with the weight it does get easier… Looks and sounds like you’ve put a canny hike and effort into your first camp so fair play, most people only ventur

    Put a rubble sack or bin liner inside any rucksack or backpack, fill it with all your gear, twist the top and fold it over inside and you have a waterproof pack - works a treat… Personally I’m a huge fan of Osprey packs, comfort is key - can be had cheap on eBay/FB marketplace or outdoors shops can hood some bargains…

    Far Eastern fells mate just a couple miles from Glenridding - Hartsop Dodd, Caudale Moor, Thornthwaite Crag and Gray Crag… Did you get out for a camp on Friday ??? Been waiting for a write up and photos.
