  1. just so you are aware if you take it to an rfd or gunsmith to be tested and it is over, it then becomes a section 1 firearm and you commit a firearms offence for possessing it. this does not, however, mean you will get into any trouble. once tested and proven to be over the RFD/gunsmith will give you some options. you can either sign the gun over to them and pay them to lower to power to a suitable amount, or you can simply remove the spring or any other major component that would render the rifle useless. if it cannot fire, it is not a firearm. I have been told this by an FEO and by an RFD.
  2. I already have SGC and now looking to apply for FAC. I shoot a large farm that is cleared for .243, most of the other shooters with rifles use .223 and one uses .22LR but I doubt I will be granted for a centre fire at my first application so need to decide what rimfire would be best for me. I understand that the .17HMR has better range, but is also a lot louder due to the super sonic rounds, where as the .22LR is quieter but requires a closer range. will mostly be shooting foxes, but also rabbits when they get a bit bigger and are worth eating. currently shooting an escort semi
  3. me and a mate are looking for some light pigeon and rabbit shooting in south wales (around the Newport and Cwmbran area). I shoot with air rifle mainly and he shoots 12 gauge double barrels. I have a permission at the moment but it isn't very populated and the other local owners have got all the shooters they need. not looking to hit anything hard, just a rabbit or 2 and a bag of birds to keep our eyes in. if anyone has any info as to where I could ask next it would be appreciated
  4. cheers guys, looks like I will be better of buying than reloading. most will be used for birds, some on foxes and a few days a year at clays so not huge numbers
  5. the most annoying thing is, if someone dragged him up the woods, stuffed a shotgun in his chest and pulled the trigger, they would never see the light of day again. yet he (at the moment) gets to walk free, with a new name and a new life to carry on as he did before.
  6. tie them up, cut them, and make sure they know they are hurt. leave them for a few days, and then let dogs finish them off. I could have fun with people like this, would like to see them suffer for what they have done
  7. saw this in work. I must say, anyone would do the same and it should be allowed. there is no father on this planet that could stop themselves form killing anyone they saw doing this.
  8. as the title says, is it cheaper to reload 12 gauge shot gun cartridges, or is it cheaper to just buy them. I reload .303 for my dad and that works out a lot cheaper and a lot more accurate. I know accuracy probably wont be affected with shot gun cartridges though, but will it save money?
  9. I like reds too, don't see many of them around. never actually seen one other than in photos. would like a yellow if I went for a lab
  10. don't give up on her, show her who is boss and make sure she knows it. the offer above is a good one though, would seriously consider it before selling to someone who may not know what they are doing with her
  11. wont be long till your back fit then, without my other injuries from the crash, after the op and I had cast off (also broke my shin) it took around 6-8 weeks before I could start jogging lightly again, and after that it improved very quickly. have you got one of those little plastic ball launchers? my lab loves it and the ball goes much further than I could ever throw it. gives him a good run and after about an hour he is totally knackered.
  12. cant keep dogs in garden as I have limited space out there as it is, majority of my work is done there so have workshop set up, trestles and jigs and so on. only a small garden and no where near enough room for kennels. anyway, been flicking through the breeders websites this morning and have found a few locals that breed labs and spaniels. got her flicking through a few of the photos and she has now decided that she would like a choco lab. I told her no, I have nothing against choc's, im sure they are as hard working as the others, I just don't want one. she tried to throw a strop and fai
  13. right. after some worrying news form the vet regarding my black lab, meaning he will not be becoming a gundog, I am in the search of a good pup. not looking for anything to buy now, as I am not equipped for a pup, time is an issue too and with a 6 month old son, working 3 shifts and not exactly enough money at the mo, I am simply looking into various breeders that will be looking to have a litter ready when I will be. have been looking at the usual, black or yellow labs, German shorthaired pointers, English springer spaniels and so on... now, my missus has said that even though
  14. I feel your pain, a bad motorbike crash tore my ACL off the bone and severed PCL too. can you walk on it with crutches, or like I was, are you chair bound for a few weeks? I would suggest a good long session with a dummy or ball, as long as he is getting a good run he should stay relatively fit. or, do you have a friend who could cycle with him?
  15. tie them up and take to them with pliers. I take great pleasure in worrying and abusing the local thieves. not saying it is right to get violent, but I am saying it works with them. my mates daughters car was broken into and radio was nicked. few days later another mate had a knock on the door, asking if he wanted to buy it. he rang the girls father and they went over. bagged him, dragged him into a landy and went off up the woods. when the bag was taken off he was tied to a tree with 2 big GSD's growling at him. haven't seen him since... I do agree that there are some pathetic law
