  1. Hi all, Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm looking for a set of png hunting icons to use with my ViewRanger app. Thanks in advance
  2. Hi All, Trimble hunt pro is now in its "sunset" phase. I'm assuming it will fold once this time has elapsed. Can anyone point me in the right direction - I'm looking for a set of hunting icons for use with the Viewranger app. They need to be in the following format 22x22 pixels, 8 bit and .png files Thanks in advance
  3. The 55's are great. There have been some good articals in the Countryman's weekly paper
  4. I have permission to trap on the estate and the keeper uses his shotgun on the squirrels. I just wanted to know if there is a health risk in eating the squirrels when rat poison may be present. Regards
  5. Hi all, I live on a pheasant shoot and quite near the pens. I've been told that the keepers might put down rat poison to assist with any issues with rats feeding on grain from the hoppers. We are overrun with greys and I'm trapping what I can. I also like the taste of squirrel but have now been put off by the possiblity of the squirrels picking up some rat poison - is this going to present a health issue and should I stop consuming what I trap?
  6. Thanks for the replies, however nobody has mentioned about preventing woodland birds nicking off with the bait
  7. What is the best bait for squirrels in a spring live capture trap. I'm using shop bought squirrel feed but the local feathered friends keep on nicking the bait. Should I mix the feed with peanut butter? Any suggestions are most welcome.
  8. Buy the ones from John Norris you won't be disappointed!
  9. Why is it that when hunting is in the media it is mainly accompanied by photos/film of mounted people? Do you feel that this playing into the class war and giving the anti's a helping hand? I'm from a working class background and support both foot and mounted hunts within my local area.
  10. We just happen to live in a country that has breathtaking scenery and differing landscapes in such a small piece of land
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome. This forum is so vast it will take some time to cover all the topics of interest!
  12. I'd be interested to know how you got on - as I may well follow your example and volunteer some time.
