  1. Good advice , who did you do the course with? , didn't know the BPCA , ran a course in this part of the country , whoever it was with that would be closer for me . It was datas, but they are no longer trading. I could get hold of the trainers names if you wanted to chat with someone local. One thing I do remember from the course,up your way there are no companies who clear up after infestations, lofts, manky flats, council houses etc.If you want to earn a living maybe look in that direction and then offer the pest control on the back of that.Go in,clear up (which you have to do an
  2. I don't know about the online but I did mine in March,Cambridgeshire. The one big bit of advice I can give if you are doing the week course is not to go on the piss at night with the other lads because it makes you're life bloody hard when it comes to taking the exam!. Trust me ,i found out the hard way.
  3. They are free range during the day.Last night he came back and took 6 hens from a locked house, broke through on the nesting box. Anyone near Rye want to earn a few quid?.
  4. Hi everyone, thanks all the advice. The bugger came back yesterday, the wife popped out for a couple of hours and returned to find a load of feathers!. Think I will go for the live trap for the non target reason. So what trap to get?. Sprockerjay I will try to find that vid
  5. Hi Matt,we have about 10 acres and this fox is coming up from our woods.I can find the path out of the garden via feathers but cant see any runs?
  6. Hi everyone, looking for a bit of advice. I have a problem fox that needs dealing with, keeps taking my chicken. He got in to the run about a month ago,cub feeding,i got out in time to stop it killing all the girls. My Patty was with me and i managed to get her in with it,she smashed it against the back of the run then mr fox turned to her showed a bit of teeth and said dog bolted out with tail betwean legs Anyway my firearms license is not through yet so im looking at trapping or snaring.I have a neighbouring farmer who is happy to dispatch. So question is trap or snare and if trap which one
  7. Just got myself a new .22 today, went into the shop wanting to try 177 for the first time but when it came to handing hard cash i couldnt bring myself to go 177. Its just down to stopping power for me,yes you have to learn about trajectory, distances etc but if you cant be arsed with that kind of stuff then go get a shot gun.
  8. My girl likes to rollon them as well, rips them to shreds first, then has a little roll.
  9. I have just purchased a GRT on advice from my local gun shop.Have just got back from its first outing,i have to say that it does kick and crack but i managed good groupings. I think its a lovely looking rifle, balanced and light. Im just about to mount a Ledray tactical 100 on the scope and then im going out for a bit of ratting. Will report back. Terry.
  10. Thanks for the replies guys,i will take the advice and leave it a few years! Took her out today for her first bit of proper ratting, she has taken about 8 rats so far but only in situations of having a single rat under pallets or taking young rats i have caught in live traps. I had to move a chicken hutch that had concrete slabs underneath, reckon i must have dug out about 15 rats and in all she killed 8 of them, not a bad start i dont think! A bit of advice,do you guys like to let the dog work where it wants or do you keep them on a lead in a place you want them to be then release when you se
