  1. Ive loojed at other posts about mink on this forum and they dont seem to answer some of my questions. So yesterday we did our first pheasant shoot of the year. And as walking through a wood a beater said he spotted a mink run into a little dried up stream. This stream hasnt been running for a few years now. Do i look for a nearby pond in the woods or just set traps near to where to was spotted? Im using mk6 fenns and a kania 2000 baited with rabbit. The ponds in the wood are more like mud pools but this area is also a few hundred meters from a flowing river. Whats my best option?
  2. So a friend of familys got a squirrel in the attic and seen as im the trapper of the family ive decided to give it a go. Ive chose to use the kania 2000 with peanut butter. Is it really that simple or is there anything else i need to cover?
  3. I have to say pre baiting works fantastic but when you have a bait shortage its easy just setting it straight away
  4. Im using pheasant chick breast. Diced up under the plate and moss surrounding the trap leaving only the plate visible. In a stone tunnel with multiple entrances
  5. Check out a few posts down my question about live cage trapping foxes...should cover all problems mate. Did for me anyway
  6. The bait keeps been taken from under the plate! Any techniques to get around this cheeky weasle?
  7. Fenn traps that is. Ive resorted to using a mk6 trap as i ran out of mk4's...will a mk6 do the job for a stoat or weasle?
  8. Ok ive got one in a wooden/mesh tunnel and 13 in stone tunnels.
  9. Its allways better catching on a warm day, if its wet the moles just dig down and stay far under ground...on a dry day set them...if your trapping in a feild with livestock in then it may help putting a bucket over the top just to stop then stepping or tampering with/on the trap
  10. There are alot of designs but wonderd what you guys think is best, stone tunnel? In a wall? Mesh tunnel? Wooden tunnel? Double entrance ? Single entrance? Whats best guys???
  11. Clear all loose soil out of the run. Flatted as far in you can reach with your fingers...if its a scissor trap make little grooves inthe run for the trap to set off fast and easy. Cover the top of the trap with grass and then sprinkle soil from the mole hill over the top to stop sunlight getting in. Hope this helps
  12. Well done. You should start to see alot more rare garden birds about now those egg stealing c**ts are dead ;-)
