  1. Look for david Evans on here, he is from your neck of the woods and may sell you some venison.
  2. I saw plenty when I was out, amazing sight, especially when you see them feeding
  3. Try looking for peter downs, he’s a heavy haulage boat man anbeen in he game for yrs, he knows his stuff but not quite at the big boys prices that are making bucks for a company as well.

Reckon you need to be heading north, not much of a population down this way, just odd pockets.
  5. How the hell did someone get a gun into a police station, was he not searched. condolonces to the family of the officer, tough times ahead. at least the perpetrator shot himself as well, unfortunately, so far he is critical but still alive.
  6. Dave at Redruth, yeah he’s a good bloke and it’s who I went to in the end.
  7. I know the feeling, all work and no play. falmouth has been fishing very well all things considered, getting bait was a problem, and the mackerel size is quite small this yr for some reason. been out on the wrecks and reefs, had to punch out further than usual to get a better stamp of fish, all the inshore ones were full of tiny whiting and nowt else. having a day in the estuary today IF I can pick some work up, then a couple of days no fishing before the weather turns good again at the weekend Really pleases how well the boat has performed, until it stopped charging yester
  8. Yes mate, weather has been superb, next couple of days look iffy but hoping to find a couple of spots in the estuary that are sheltered. staying just outside Falmouth, hows Teignmouth fishing now, may move up there for a few days towards the weekend
  9. BOAT = Bring Out Another Thousand ? Been having a little look out myself this week, down your neck of the woods kev. Too dumb to work out how to post pics.
  10. I think we need a massive cull on mankind, the planet is way to over populated and we are pushing hundreds, no, thousands of species to extinction every year, we are the greediest, most destructive animal going, with no natural predators, cull the human race and nature will do the rest
  11. So, decided a couple of days in Falmouth was the order of the day, left the cool box of bait sitting in the garage 300 miles away ? if anyone knows where I can source good fresh bait in/around Falmouth it would be much appreciated.
  12. Where did you get the slugs ? I fancy trying some.
  13. Bang on the money there, once the formal refusal (written and signed letter-rarely hand delivered nowadays) has been issued, the only way to overturn it is a court appeal, however, I know personally of a case where information was wrongly interpreted, an informal chat about the matter and it was rectified in a couple of weeks and he had his ticket, although it was carried out as a reapplication rather than decision overturning, it went through in days not the usual weeks or months.
  14. Basc WILL take appeals on, Provided when the details go the their chosen solicitor he advises a better than 50% chance of winning, it has nothing to do with the reasons for refusal, but everything to do with chances of so called success. personally I would swerve the FEO and speak to the FLO, and if no joy there I would request a f2f higher up. Something is obviously making them nervous, they may have grounds or maybe not, I don’t know, but if what you state is 100% correct then a friendly discussion is the first point of call and talk it over with them.
  15. What happened to the crown you had ?
  16. Se, in wood. bedford so I thought that would put the mockers on it.
  17. I have a bsa- ultra that can go, .22, shoots very well indeed (well it always did but not used it for a yr) keep meaning to get around to advertising it but never seem to actually do it.
  18. Yes, done a bit but no preference, only ever used what ever was around and never spent any time with one particular gun. will be handling a lot over the next few days and see what feels righ. Not for me. Totally agreed, I have a man who will custom fit it if needed (I’m also rubbish with a shottie as spent most my life using rifles), but I’m thinking of spending some time on clays this yr. I don’t spoil myself too often, but I have decided I will get myself one nice one as opposed to the knocked about farm/tractor/truck everyday guns. I’ve several
  19. So, thinking of treating myself to something nice. what would you recommend and why. I want a well made, good looking, shottie for best, game days and clays, maybe even a few duck flights, one that will last. Most likely 12, but could be tempted by a 20 currently looking at the Miroku range, mk38 and the mk60, local shop has them both in and can have a look at them tomorrow, but before I spend out, what else is worth a look.
  20. Oddly, I always thought they were crap, but the farm next door bought one as a farm run about, and it’s been bloody good, needs a decent tyre on it, but they have had it three yrs now, it’s never broken down, all the bits still work, it’s been abused and still does the job. its ok ish to drive, not too uncomfortable, better on fuel than my ranger, doesn’t knock or bang, changes gears ok, 4wd goes in and out no issues. What I don’t like is it feels a bit naff inside, you can just feel it’s a budget built motor, I wouldn’t want one as a replacement for mine, but for a farm motor for al
  21. Thanks, I’m going to give it a go, no harm in trying. I know what you mean about walnut, I’ve always felt they are a bit special for some reason, maybe because not your everyday tree.
  22. It’s a great gesture Arry, and one I have been on the receiving end of, my old gramps planted a walnut for both me and my brother, sadly one died, ( i still have the trunk drying in the shed) but the other still grows strong to this day. my gramps died when I was still fairly young, but I remember him most every day I see that tree. I have also been planting a few trees about the place, mainly oak and ash, but you have me thinking about some walnuts now, how easy dd you find it to do, and what’s the idea of putting them in the fridge

At least he only lets the dog watch, there’s one or two on here that would have it join in
  24. I fell lucky, bought mine at a farm sale for a tenner, looked real clean and hardly used but a few folks tried to fire it up and it wouldn’t run. got it back and diesel tank was half full of water, stripped it out, cleaned tank, and lines, new filter, runs like a dream, it heats my workshop that’s roughly 20m x 5m x 5m, sip fireball 215
