  1. PLEASE READ ON GUYS... Im a photographer and have been trying to sell my images from my website with ALL profit going to Help For Heroes.. Im very interested in High Speed Photography, and you can see some examples of that in my water drops pictures, but im embarking on a new idea! one that will include SHOOTING... This is where i need a little help, but advice is also very welcome and id be very grateful for any input from your good selves.. OK, if all works well, ill be photographing different types of ammo/guns.. i know ill be able do capture things like 9mm as they are
  2. Haha.. That dog is a big old lump too! looks very hard but is the softest bundle you've ever seen! lol.. Id love to take Rich's offer! and it would be great to meet up at some point but it'd be taking some of the fun out of it for me! not to sound ungratfull or anything.. but id like to have a few trips up to see if i can get it.. they dont sound desperate to get him. And who knows, once he's gone i might lose my perm! just a thought.. i hope not!!
  3. Iv not been up for a while, too little time! but will be up there sometime next week or soon after.. its a good 50+ miles from me, and with full time shift work its been difficult to time it right.. the weather hasnt helped as their ground has been sodden and im mainly going there for Crows & Woodies.. with it getting dark so early its been tricky.. not to mention 100+ miles round trip for 2-3hrs hunting.. although i will be staying into the evening when i go in future for the fox, as long as the owner has got better shells! lol..
  4. Im not a first time shooter, just dont have paperwork, and unsure about what SG ammo is for what exactly, iv had 6 years in the Army and have used SG's on quite a lot of occasions, a few times shooting clays, and shooting FIG11's in lanes.. i thin you call that 'Practical Shotgun' or something?? but im aware and sensible and understand the need for a decent backstop ect.. the ground is on a slope although the area is flat so unless the fox is at the top of the slope the shot will only hit the ground behind it. even if the fox IS at the top of the hill, the land begind is 20-30 acres of ploughe
  5. Great stuff guys, iv certainly learnt a lot from reading the posts so far.. I spoken to them and the owner is going to go and get something more up for the job.. i hope he gets his own advice as im not going with him.. I'll will post back here when/if we sort it out.. Tony..
  6. Iv just had a txt back from the owners, this is what he uses.. Lylevale 12GA 65mm special game 30g. Any good?
  7. Ahhh!! i get it.. NOW!.. lol.. I was picturing the stick was to hold the fox down! lol.. i totally understand now.. i was up very early this morning! sorry.. lol..
  8. Im just curious about the split stick, couldnt you just put your foot on his hind ? or am i missing something??
  9. Iv mentioned about a trap too, they are hoping to get rid of this fox and then build a new coup for the chickens.. i think once the weather sorts itself out a bit they will do it..
  10. Thanks Muddy, i need to find out what he has, next time im up there ill have a better look..
  11. Wow.. whats the chances of that eh!.. lol.. i'll certainly keep you in mind!..
  12. Hi Richie, Thanks for that, im in Archway Near Highgate, but the permission is way out on Chelmsford! Tony..
  13. The land is 10 acres, they run a horse livery and HAD 30 chickens!! they only have 4 now, i take care of their Crow problem (They are also trying to get at the chickens!) and will potentially take care of the Fox one too, although i feel they would be better off sorting out the fencing as where theres one fox.. The land is failry flat but on the side of a spur, with a few fences to get in the way theres nothing much else to hinder any shots.. The Fox is fairly calm, it easily comes to within 30 yds when they are out and about and has even been seen playing with their DOGS!! one being a
  14. Thanks for that, i know HOW to shoot, i just need to find out BEFORE attempting it what the different ammo can do, once i know what shot he has i'll hopefully know what its effective range is ect.. i'll not do it before then, unless when im there its 20yds away!. ;-)
