I know would most likely be illegal as well bloody stupid and dangerous but can it be done .I was thinking about nets run across feed rides ect (you know the sort of thing where they brake 9times out of 10 ) this is purely Fantasay of corse and never be put into practise . 4. has anybody any experience of either of these breeds for genuine work. I know there fairly vocal but this shouldnt be a problem on permission. Their feet and constitution looks as if they'd be ideal for hunting really rough shit land. In their own countries eg malta, spain, Balearic islands, they hunt on volcanic soil and really rough boulder strewn stuff. at the end of the day they are their equivalent of our lurchers. The price tag attached to pups of £700 is very off putting. I was just very interested to see if anyone had ever done anything with them? Probably the blood stock of bo
  5. As if Police helicopters watching what we're doing, or antis with huge telephoto lenses, or undercover RSPCA officials, isn't enough... what about this ? Some of you might have already seen it, it's an oldish article. But then again, very few members on here will have heard of the New Scientist, never mind read it. Anyway here's the article. This only applies I suppose if you're actually out in the field, actually working your dogs, as opposed to talking pish from your armchair. All the best Malc

  11. I've currently got a team of 5 border bitches, and a 10 week old pup I've bred myself that I've high hopes for. All my borders are excellent bushing dogs, work nearly every day. Either pushing up or bolting stuff for the running dogs or the shotgun. One of my best bitches will even speak on a semi cold line. They'll all speak in cover on fox. Others will squeak on rabbit, and it's enough to let you know where they are. A real plus point of this strain of borders is that they all get on really well, and kennel / van up easily together. Pictures attached of my pack Malc
  12. I've been a gamekeeper and a huntsman i'm now a gravedigger best job I've ever had
  13. I take your point about gogley eyes but I don't think cavs will be as useless as people think years ago the west yorks branch of the fell and moorland had to dig two cavs out of an earth after they had become stuck and plummer recon he was using a pack for bushing
