  1. any gun is capable of wounding its the shot placement that does the killing not the gun. Yes, accepted, however if the Vmax load hits almost anywhere at the front end it's an outright kill... please before anyone comes back, yes I do practice, I do take care with shot placement and virtually always hit where I intended to.. I watch the shot hit through the scope... it's apparent later when I pick up, the damage caused by the round is enormous, it does not wound.
  2. Can't be bothered to consider this changing barrels nonsense, it's too time consuming and you have to re zero the scope as well instead of just a quick zero check. Best to get a rifle for each calibre you need. My CZ452 HMR with a Sidewinder TAC30 and 17gr Vmax is awesome, I did not fit a trigger kit, I had an old school gunsmith adjust the trigger and it is now smooth and crisp and lighter in action. 150yd headshot bunnies no problem and the beauty of the HMR is that it does not wound.
  3. I have recently parted with an AGS 4-16x56 - not a bad scope, but there are better. I have a Nikko Stirling 4-16x44 Nighteater on my AA A410 - really good clear optics - and a Hawke Sidewinder TAC30 6.5-20x42 on my HMR - superb optics... It really depends on your budget, but my preference would be Hawke first followed by Nikko Sterling.
  4. I have to agree completely, it's all very well asking questions fiona22, but you are asking questions that, as tegater has said, indicate a total lack of knowledge. I hope you have someone near to you that has good experience and can stop you making a dreadful mistake...
  5. I vote for Air Arms... because I have two of them... I looked several times at getting a Rapid and didn't because... the only second hand ones available were in a poor state or the asking price of one in good nick was as much as a new one or a new one was going to take forever to come from manufacture and the RFD attitude was that Theoben after sales was rubbish... I bought AA 410 SL Xtra .22 it is as accurate as any, gives 34 shots at full power (32ft lbs) and can be turned down to be used inside buildings etc. My mate has just bought a new 510 Xtra .22 and it performs exactly the same.
  6. Snap, just done the same, will arrive on Tuesday. If the quality of the device is good then for what it does I don't reckon £100 delivered is too bad at all.
  7. Has anyone had use of one of these? I like the adjustable bit and think I'd rather buy one of these than make some that are fixed in size. http://www.bushwear.co.uk/nostyles.php?ProductID=316964&ClassID=46 Any opinions gratefully received
  8. My apologies to all for not replying... I have been so at it, it's unreal. First time owning land and first time having to deal with a massive rabbit infestation. @Clarkey92 I am just south of Canterbury Here's a question that's just popped into my head, what do you do with your used brass?, I now have a large bag of HMR brass, only a few from zeroing the rest all claimed bunnies... god I love that gun

  10. Hi all, I've been lurking and reading for a while, but as I've just posted in another topic I thought I'd better do one in here.. I'm in darkest Kent and have had air rifle for a good few years, mainly pcp, I'm know into rimfire and just going fac air... rabbits are a pain in my rear.
  11. Hi Books, and others, think this might be my first post here... Anyway, as has been said, what you have been told is a load of BS, I do not know where you are in Kent but I am near Canterbury and have no problem whatsoever with fills.. and I don't know of anyone else who has problems either...
