    Selling my .223 lithgow. Its has 20 rounds down the barrel to zero it. It shoots 1/2 MOA @100M with factory ammo. Basically I bought it and then had 2 shoulder reconstructions so it's just been sat in the cabinet. 1in 9 twist Aimsport mod included. X2 magazines included Scope and bipod not included.

The catty seem financially viable!I'd be getting 2nd hand and that puts me off the 22-250 even more due to being labelled "barrel burners" As far As cost of a rifle 2nd hand and ammo goes the .223 wins. The fact that I'm only getting one out of necessity, is a big factor. Farmer says just get rid of the big dog foxes if I see one. Doesn't want them annihilated just kept on top of. I suppose come lambing season it'll be a different story. But shelling lots for something that may not get used much doesn't make sense. Which is why I think.223. Less expensive to but on the used market and

    Like I said. I don't really want to be over gunned. As much as I'd want a 22 250 I think it's a bit much for the land I have. I won't be reloading so it's straight out the box for me. Again why the 223 appeals. I suppose I've made a big u turn. Just to be straight. The land is cleared for 308. I don't have one. I looking for a foxing calibre solely for this land. I begrudge killing anything if it isn't actually causing a problem on the land or I don't eat it. Sounds odd I know. But shoot for food or because of issues with pest. Never been one to blast something just becau

    Lots of food for thought. The farmer likes the odd dear so they are a no go. Near the buildings there is a caravan site the farmer owns so I wouldn't be firing off near there. I'd be further in the valley. Funny you mention downhill. The farm runs down hill with walls between fields. River is at the very bottom with the woods. Hasn't stopped it being cleared for 308 though. But safety is a big factor. I think a 223 seems like a happy medium. Does everything just a bit better than the 222.

    This is why asked. Only used centre fires down range and at range. I'm a capable shooter and frequently take bunnies crows and pigeons at 100yards with fac air and my 22lr. Basically as my variation is going in I don't want to just put down the biggest I can get away with. Trying to be semi responsible and get something suitable for my needs. I just want to choose the round that will do the job. The flatter trajectory and more capable of the 22-250 is what attracted me to it. My field craft will need adapting to foxing and that'll take some practice Maybe I should have

    I'm only gauging from what ibjave seen on the land. Lots of open land and looking at my markers (trees and bushes) I think around 250 will where most appear from. I can try and squeek em in. I Don't want to be over or under gunned. Think I'll have to try squeaking them in closer. The question still stands though. Which round

    So I've got a new price of land around 300 acres. Farmer wants foxes thinned out as the conservationists keep picking them up from towns and releasing them near the river. They always make their way up to his farm from there. So I need to sort a variation out for a centerfire. Which round to go for? .222 or 22-250 Each field is pretty long and open. I like the idea of the 250 for the flatter trajectory but will the .222 suffice. I see the average fox being around 250 yards Any opinions would be appreciated

    Hi guys. I've recently moved up to this area and I'm looking for someone that would allow me to tag along on a pigeon shoot. I've done lots of bunny bashing but,,, I've not done a lot of decoying and would like to get into it. I hold a sgc and FAC I don't have to shoot. Just be nice to get out and meet people in the sport and learn a few things Any input comments etc welcome (even negative ones )
