  1. If the fore end was only found to be packed with newspaper when he came to sell it, was it never cleaned whilst he owned it? Maybe next time he buys something he should take someone with him or he could end up with another lemon. Actually, while I think of it, would he like to buy a boat? Nick
  2. Used to play scrum half or outside half at school but we were predominantly soccer or men's hockey so our rugby teams were carp and got ripped to pieces. My son plays loosehead which confirms the saying "no sense, no feeling". What winds me up is the standard of reffing at school level - varies from good through iffy to positively dangerous at times. We go to London Irish when other commitments allow. Wonder how this season will go with a fresh coaching team? Nick
  3. Yes but with what the whole thing costs there should be some effort made to make it more worthwhile being out than in. Personally though, I haven't a clue how to do it. Another thing is that if you get prisoners institutionalised so they cannot handle being out side, it isn't much of a punishment, is it? Prisons are mostly there to give the rest of us a break from their activities. Nick
  4. I found it depressing that the prison system is incapable of turning out individuals able to look after themselves. Little wonder they offend again. Nick
  5. 63% of statistics are made up. Nick
  6. The change was a result of Daily Mail readers believing in the 1000-fold increase in gun crime committed by 17 year olds in possession of air rifles.... Oh, it isn't true? Well, well. Nick
  7. As your Grandmother used to say, Forest: "Stupid is as stupid does". How about throwing in a bit of punctuation too? Not sure it will help make sense of what you are saying but it may be worth a try. Nick
  8. Credit where it is due, the Lancaster was an evolution of the Manchester, both designed for Avro by Roy Chadwick. Barnes Wallis designed the Vickers Wellington but was responsible for designing the Upkeep (bouncing) bomb and later the Tallboy and Grand Slam "earthquake" bombs. The Lancaster made the delivery of these weapons possible. For an up close and personal look at a Lancaster, visit http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/ Nick
  9. Our cats regularly bring rabbits in. Sometimes they eat them but leave the ears and feet behind plus a few bits of innards. Sitting watching TV one evening when a rabbit came racing through the room being chased by two of our cats. It was mayhem but managed to shut the cats out by which time the rabbit was hiding behind a sofa. I find that dropping a towel over the rabbit makes it think it is safe before I grab it. The worst is finding the decomposing, maggoty remains of a half-eaten rabbit lurking in some little used part of the house. Nick
  10. There are two already but one of those is in Canada. There are many rumours in the flying community that the third has flown already if it is the one you are talking about. Nick
  11. The link is for the crystals, not the ready-made solution. If anyone is local to Farnham we have quite a bit left over since moving over to machining circuit boards rather than chemical etching. Nick
  12. I posted this link in another thread but it is equally relevant here. Ferric Chloride solution is also used to make electronic printed circuit boards. Maplin Electronics stock packets of the crystals. See http://www.maplin.co.uk/ferric-chloride-crystals-2097 Nick
  13. I have heard back from the guy I was supposed to have met. He apologised as he has been ill which is fair enough so things may not be as bad as I was left feeling at the time. It does not excuse Mr Rude but I guess any club has its share of those. Nick
