My clay club sells everything from 21g loads up to blunderbuss power. BUT.... according to the CPSA, the maximum load for British discipines is 28g. International (FITASC) allows up to 36g.

I showed my Mrs this thread cos I thought it was a giggle...she says you're all just men being little bitches...and I got in trouble for finding it funny. Cheers for that Terrie

BUMP...Signed and posted the link elsewhere. Still runs till the 8th of August so who knows, as long as it's publicised as much as possible.

For sale due to house move. Field model, 26 inch barrel, great condition, been well looked after and has had an easy life. Cleaned after each use. Comes with ABS case, 4 chokes, choke tool, mag reducer. I am advertising this on another site for £650 at the moment, but I need to get rid. Make me a sensible offer. I can send pics via e-mail. Thanks John

Not being funny mate, but if I was an FLO and I saw your avatar, I'd be asking some questions. -
Why are semi-autos frowned on?
gibspoon replied to gibspoon's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I though that you could use a SGC scatter gun on game, but not a Section 1 boom-stick. -
Excuse my ignorance on this, but why are semi-autos looked upon negatively when it comes to driven shoots? Surely if it does the job properley, it's fine? Is it just that they don't go with tweed britches?! Or has this issue just been blown out of propertion? I might start a poll on this one... John

OK, just in case anyone else wondered, last time I went to the club I got to the point where I didn't even bother to keep a score. I was using 3/4 choke. But this time I found that half-choke works best for me, using 28gr with size 6 shot.
-
Hello folks, as in the title, this is what I'm using at the moment. Should I open it up a touch, or stick with the 3/4 choke? I'm new to clays, and it seems a bit hit and miss, pardon the pun. Cheers John

I've not long had my scatter gun certificate...but I guess it's a good reason to get me a 10-22

There are loads in warrens in hegderows. I'm shooting on a relatively small area, so my choice of approach is limited- open flat field with wind seemingly always against me. I don't have permission for the other side of the hegderow. Really frustrating because i can usually see about ten rabbits as I approach. I'll manage to get one shot off and that's it. What do you use to stink them out?
-
No, I'm not talking about mother in law this time... Am I wasting my time going after bunnies during the day? I've only bagged one in four outings, so I guess so. Anyone else have a different take on it? Also, once I've announced my presence to them by firing the boom-stick, how long does it normally take for them to relax and come back out of the warrens? Cheers John

Hello, Can anyone help get me started? Semi-experienced as I used to shoot with the old fella. Looking for permission and/or someone to mentor me. SGC holder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks John.
