  1. Where do you plan to stalk. I can provide names for hinds in highland perthshire or the west coast of Scotland. Accommodation is cheap and the stalking spectacular. I go to both every year and it is no where near £190 per day
  2. DMG's are an option for dealing with deer professionally and to gain a unified voice with the organisations (or stakeholders as the knobs call them). All members are insured when they join and are asked to start the DMQ process. There is also a constitution that is signed up to. You cannot please everyone and a lot of work and administration goes into the forms and renewals, setting up meetings and assessments. The phone calls are another labour intensive part of the task. Nothing is perfect and it is very early doors but if you dont dance to the tune that SNH and FC are playing you cannot
  3. 22LR is used to kill horses in the knackers yard and young male dairy cows, not how big it is it is where you point it
  4. Mate, The only thing I can find that is not designated for varmint, is the Sako Gamehead which is available in 223, not sure about 222. I shoot them with speer 1047 heads which again is designated varmint by the USA. the 223 is classed as a varmint round over there. I was using 55gn nosler BT on them and federal powershok before I got loading stuff. The nosler stuff is expensive but very accurate and you can neck them with confidence and they drop. Bullet placement is obviously key to dropping them. hope this helps
  5. I have had a clearout of things i did not use. Have still got a CZ 452 in 22LR for bunnies Ruger M77 with Hungarian 8x56 S&B and T4 in 223 Remington for foxes Sauer 202 outback with German variable S&B and T8 in 308 for deer Maybe changing things around later in the year, dropping the 223 and getting another 22-250 or 243 but we will see.
  6. Full mount or just skull mount? Full taxidermy deer mount is a lot of dosh, Stalking fee £150 Trophy fee £350 Taxidermist fee fee £600 And that is not for a royal. And dont forget the VAT @ 20% as well. Skull mount I can sort you with.
  7. I got mine from here the are the dogs b00locks even for red deer. call him he will do discount for quantity http://www.jaspergilbert.co.uk/gamberels.shtml
  8. Quite good, but not the best.Pros light weight relatively good optics purchased from meopta and then finished by swaro. Cons edge to edge clarity not the best, new z series adjustments terrible, not as robust as some other scopes. meopta 3 10 *50 great scope love the optics by swaro at half the price great low light hate the eye relief oh did i mention i hate the eye relief! I am wondering where you got that information from? I think it is a load of crap. No offence. Greg I have to say this is nonsense as well. Meopta dont make lenses for swarovski, Heard they are supply
  9. I have 2 S&B scopes on my deer rifles. 2.5-10 x 56 German and 8x56 Hungarian, would need some prompting to buy anything else.
