  1. I bought the 316 marine grade 1 x 19 s/s cable, it was perfect for my use. I think that S3i will sell a 1 metre length, so it's cheap enough to buy a short length to see if it's suits your purpose? Their video explains the stiffness of each cable.
  2. I use a NM800 IR with the normal and a XSearcher head and colured LEDs, mounted on a Taclight adjustable mount. I also have a Wolf Eyes Seal, which is superb! Regarding a lazer,i've never used one, so i can't comment, just a thought, they maybe good for range finding? But your quarry will know you are near, BEFORE you are near enough, especially if you are using nightvision, it defeats the object of a stealth approach? On the other hand, it is difficult sometimes to judge distances at night though, so the Lazer, may help? ATB, Digby.
  3. For air rifle distances, you may not need too much power or lumens, a dimmable beam is preferable + colured filters or LEDs, maybe a Lenser P7, you can buy a gun mount kit for it too, also check out www.taclight.co.uk, speak to Tony,he will advise you on suitable options, maybe an Olight M22 Warrior kit ( this contains coloured fliters, remote switch and mount, or the NM400 or Venom? Taclight sell a good adjustable mount. I have never seen one,so i can't comment on them, maybe check out www.ludicrouslumens.co.uk - T20,T50etc. Decide also, what batteries the torch uses too, some use AA,AAA
  4. I forgot to add, i prefer the LSD ( Low Self Discharge ) batteries, as they retain power for longer, % power after a year once charged + unused - whereas a normal rechargeable battery will loose all its power a lot sooner.
  5. I highly recommend Panasonic Eneloops LSD batteries and either a Technoline BL700 charger, i bought mine from Battery Logic or a Nitecore digicharger D4, from Torch Direct, both are really good places to buy from. I always take a spare set of 4 AA batteries out in the field. Working time depends on what they are used in + how long. Up to 500 or 2100 recharges, so good value. ATB.
  6. Muck Boots are good value and hard wearing, superb ankle support strength, different sole patterns and also fleece lined Winter boots as an option too.
  7. Rabbit guts and rotten eggs left to 'marinate' in a bucket with a good lid on it!!! For a while. You have a cheap, homemade attractant, just ensure you wear gloves and don't spill any on your clothes! Dab the potion high up on a tree/bush and let the wind scent them into the target area. Good Luck!
  8. Hello PK, Have you tried www.s3i.co.uk? They have a large selection of wire cables, differing sizes and flexibilities, plus ferrules, crimping tools etc. I bought cables, ferrules and an Ormiston crimping tool from them, to make ground anchors etc. They are good to deal with too. ATB, Digby.
  9. I was asked to get rid of some moles in a stunningly manicured garden, the first thing i noticed was an array of garden pitchforks and childrens hand held wind rotators dotted next to mole hills! In the garden, i found pearls of garlic, broken wine bottle pieces and of all things . . . Wrigleys Juicy Fruit chewing gum sticks!!! She admitted she had looked " ont' tinternet " for ideas on how to get rid of moles, but after she had placed all her 'mole deterents' the number of molehills kept multiplying, ( DOH !!! I wonder why? ) so she decided to call in a mole eggspurt! I smiled all aftern

  12. You never know what you will catch in a half barrel trap!
  13. +1 www.flatpack.co.uk Their stainless steel half barrel traps are top notch. You get what you pay for, they will last for years, if you look after them. On the other hand - The Big Cheese . . . Buy cheap - buy twice! Re : mole charge in the US. Wow! Unbelievable Jeff !!! If only . . .
