    First of all I made the mistake of cleaning the liner before I shot it (as I would with any newly acquired gun), not knowing a simple “tube” might not be straight I then went through the indexing process which opened my eyes as to how out of true the liner could be. Finally I fitted a Carbon sleeve and low and behold I now have complete confidence shooting out to 100 yds with a 25 g pellet off a wing mirror (truck gun)

    I have never understood why Hawke Rimfire scopes are variable magnification when the etched ranges are only accurate at one setting. The .22 LR Rimfire scopes are even worse with the bigger differences in velocity of the round

    As far as I’m aware, BASC can put you in touch with medical people who are NOT anti gun, for around the princely sum of £60. I would join them and see what they can do

    I thought Hornady only guaranteed expansion up to 175 yds with the 17 g. I have had rounds passing straight through bunnies at 200 + yds

    Put in for a variation 6/7 weeks ago with D&C. Moved a LR on last Christmas and wanted to do a 1-4-1 but website said no and kept moving the goalposts as to when possible Variation dropped on mat yesterday at, to see variation granted and cheque returned so honouring the 1-4-1 ?. Downside, my two remaining LR’s were missing off certificate although ammo allowance still on Pre COVID D&C were around one week from personal experience

    Perhaps distance had something to do with it, or were they at same distance I know when I shoot the 17 in a narrow valley, the noise seems to go on and on reverberating

    At least you got to do something, according to Devon & Cornwall, their website stated resumes variations on the 15/12, so accordingly i sold a Rimfire on the arranged 15th to do a 1-4-1 which according to my Firearms had to be done in the 7 days you need to notify of sale Late on the 14th they moved the goalposts to the 12th of Jan ?, bang goes my “free” slot

    The problem normally occurs when using “short” pellets. This can be overcome by loading the pellets skirt first from the other side. Problem solved
