  1. I've seen a rabbit swim aprox 10m pond to escape and it's surprising how good it was too.Head held high above the waterline and hardly a splash!A one metre ditch,no problem.
  2. Very interested, got any photos?what sort of age is it?
  3. That's what i like about this site, you get the kind of info that only comes with experience. No bull, where else would you get any sort of comparison without the hard sell !!!I know nothing about nv but have been looking for info for a while.Gained more Knowledge on this site then anywhere else.Thankyou for your honesty.I'm after an add on so any advise is gladly received, cheers debur.
  4. Hi,been trapping with Fenns and have a stoat in great condition that someone is welcome to have.Seems a shame to waste it.Ive caught a few of late and have rapped them in paper and put straight into freezer.Thought it would be nice to give something back to the forum users, cheers, debur.
  5. Can't sleep and was lying in bed when i heard a cock Pheasant calling, the time was 0204 am,then again at 0307 and again at 0356 am.This is a first for me,anyone else heard them at night????
  6. Hi,i'm a member of a small syndicate,we put down 750 poults and aim to shoot eight days of around 35/40 birds. There are twelve full guns who all pay the same. The idea was that all members share the work, rearing, feeding, puting out hoppers ect.We have been very successful in acheiving our goal, returning a five year average of 50% or over of birds put down.It is a relaxed shoot and we take turns to walk and stand. My question is how does other syndicates get round the problem of sharing out the work as there are six members who end up doing all the work!!!How do other syndicates manage this issue?
  7. Fair comment,i neeed to find out what the SSI status is for.Hopefully there won't be to much digging!!!Thanks for taking the time to reply.
  8. all woods over 100 years and some less are sssi most are shot in moors have same thing but shot over all it is to save rare plants grass and stop felling trees at will if your ferreting no probblem 2 years ago we planted a hedge on sssi rabbits eaten it off n england told us to get rid of rabbits as they most be controld by law I thought there used to be a law in place regarding the obligation of landowners to control damage but does it still exist? The area i'ved been asked to ferret contains an area of dunes and has a couple of footpaths right through it,so i want to do my homework!
  9. Yes you are right regarding the SSI,as usual great feedback.I love my sport and don't want to create any bad press as there are always someone out there ready to have ago at Fieldsports in general.I'm alittle wary as landowners can at times bend the truth to suit!!!Will investigate further
  10. Hi,not sure im posting this in the right place but would like to know if there are any issues regarding Ferreting on SSI land? I have permission from the land owner but thought I'd ask the question anyway. There are a couple of footpaths through the area so will come into contact with public and would like to know of any issues. thoughts anyone please !!!!
  11. Thanks for taking the time to reply, will try again
