  1. I have had good results with defiant pellets in 177in a 97k and bsa lightning, they are great. In a webley mark 3 and a hw 100 they are not so good but the bsa and the webley shoot fine with super domes .
  2. What advantage has a scope with a 30mm tube over a scope with a 25mm tube .If any at all .With both magnification and lenses the same on the imaginary scopes.
  3. TO........THEHOFF...Not to good with computers email ect.I do no what to do .but cant explain here to well .a weaker hammer spring is a start .the air has to be chocked of before the valve .and before the barrel .
  4. All I can guess at is maybe a gun like an air arms or a theoben pcp ,have a small amount of high presure air to access when the valve is opened. This small amount of air in an air chamber takes time to refill regulating the shot a bit .If the valve was left open for a long time there would be no air and no power in crease. On a gun like the stealth when the valve is opened, the valve is opened into the hole 500cc bottle .If the valve was left open for a long time ,the gun would have access to as much air as could pass the valve ,at full pressure for as long as the valve is open.Hope this makes s
  5. I have just inherited a s400 it was 13 ftlbs .No one messed with the gun it was just over powered .I removed an small allen bolt to gain access to the grub screw[or screws] in the transfer port .I turned the grub screw in a little to get the power down to 11ftlbs.I am wondering is there two grub screws in the hole that blocks the transfer port .Or one grub screw with a locking compound of some sort.I dont wont the grub screw to move.for obvious reasons. The grubscrew was stiff to turn.I wonder why the stiffness was I forcing two grubscews or was it due to a locking compound. If it is a locking c
  6. I feel education costs .Sometimes you take something to bits and it dosen,t work out as expected .You have learned something, next time it will be ezeyer .If you dont try you will always have to rely on shops.
  7. thankyou,i'll give this a try ..............................................................You could check your answer with say AirArms Field pellets they weigh 15.9 grain get 100 of them .
  8. ...................................I mounted a laser under my barrel .I use it for night shooting .It has only a short range where the laser and the pellet are zeroed .It is a problem ,but if you wish to use your laser as a ranger finder it may be better . The scope and the laser are ferther apart giving a larger gap to mesure, giving greater accurace when judging distance. Also having the laser on your barrel and your scope on the top of the gun. both sights in different places. If one sight is out. by looking at your zero piont if a sights is out you know .If the laser is mounted on the scope.
  9. I have had a few guns .The best gun I have had over all ,considering, cost ,power ,accuracy, ease of use, durability.Has to be a hw97k 177 .
  10. If you were getting 60 12ftlbs shots before you the stripped gun ,and you still fill the gun the same way and your pressure gauge is sill working correctly .You may have reasembled your gun in such a way as to be giving you 40 13ftlbs .
  11. Um, just bought a 97kt, what needs to be done to it then? I have got and have had quite a few air guns in my life .My 97k was second hand but not used much .It has had nothing done to it ,just shot a lot more by me ,that ran it in a bit.It just put a scope on the gun a it has to be the best gun I have owned .accurace and power are constant .I would do NOTHING to my 97k unless something went wrong .
  12. I just got a JSRTargetPlus 6-24x44 mil dot AO .55 quid delivered .From Ramsbottom on EBAY .It at present is fantastic well worth the money better than and equal to all the hawke scopes I have had.I have had hawke scopes some good some bad .the worst was all foggy .what got me hooked on hawke scopes was the rectal program .You can work the trajectery out better with chairgun and a standard mil dot.
  13. Once I was shooting an old webley omega 22 with different pellets and getting different groups .I was just shooting for fun wasting ammo .I had a few of the dynamic pellets the hard tin lead free ones what ever they are made of .I shot them threw the gun .After shooting the dynamics I belive the guns groups tightend up .I feel the hard pellet scrapped any exsess lead out of the barrel leaving a lightly lead coated barrel .Never being able to repeat experiment I dont know if what I belive to be true was in fact true or I just had a better mood and my shooting improved.Has any one eles noticed t
  14. as for which part will fail first how long is a piece of string .I think the spring will snap mine did looking on the bsa web sight springs braking is common.I would think the tk002 would be the best with a titan xs spring [it has a spring guide if it is a good fit it should be fine ]I haven t used a kit I made my own but used a titan spring .The piston is hard to get out of the lightning to just change the the spring a spring press may be needed.
  15. another thing I have noticed is the the scope rail has to sections one in front one on the back .they are two pieces of metal joined by bolts .I would think it is possible for the two pieces of metal to get misalined giving error.
  16. yes I would agree .Just had a look at the longbow night sight .Very reasonably priced for knocking of a few rabbits.
  17. had a think about this .I guess you need two lenses a concave and a convex and a tube .the concave lense near the scope eye piece .This will make the light parralel ,then it travels down the tube to the convex lense where it is focused .
  18. I have just gotten some cheap russian night vision goggles .To just walk around in the dark i didn t expect to much .But I have since discovered I can read in the dark with them .spot a rabbit at 50 yards just .and what is great and totaly unexpected with an ir torch on gun I can use my scope like usual .
  19. To use a night vision monocula on a scope I feel the scope has to be set forward on the gun .The scope is then no good for day use .Or if a scope is set up for day use and then the night vision monocula is attatched it is to far back to use .I feel if the scope was set forward on the gun and suitable for the night vision monacular .To use the scope in the day a set of lenses could be fitted to take the place of the nightvision monocular on the back of the scope. Then the scope could be used day and night with comfort.ON A PCP GUN ONLY .Who knows what lenses it must be posible?
  20. There is a grub screw you can tighten [if the grub screw hole and thread is ok]. you can get to the grub screw by removing the air cilinder .that screws of.Mine did that after I thought I would screw of the silentcer I turned the barrel.I just tightened the screw and now treat the barrel very gently all is fine .AT THE MOMENT.
  21. I put a titan xs in my bsa lightning 177 works great .I put a titan xs in my webley omega 22 and had to cut of a lot of spring to lose power .
  22. Posted Today, 08:47 PM Compressed air and mineral oil are not a good mix. A diesel engine ignites at a compression ratio of about 19:1, hence a pressure of about 20 bar (ok, maybe a bit higher, and the heat of compression helps with ignition) whereas the PCP runs at a pressure around ten times higher than that. I've seen the effect of oil in a relatively low pressure (100 bar) system, and it can be pretty spectacular, so the risk with a 300 bar system is high. molycote the stuff theoben use to lube the valve or silicone the stuff you get in the dive shop to grease your dive bottles e
  23. I am not trying to say you are wrong .Are you two saying NO because you have been told no,think no,or you understand the guns working and know NO.When using a Theoben a small amount of grese is place on the bottles thread from time to time some must get into the gun ,or not .
  24. I have just gotten a SSP air gun .In the instructions they sugest poring oil down the barrel to oil the main o ring and oiling the pump when stiff.I have decided to put silicon oil and molycote in the pump area quite heverly so when the gun is shot a trace of oil and grees is seen on the pellet probe.I feel this will oil the o rings inside the gun.The gun shoots nice and constant 11.2 FTLBS......So I wonder would it be a good idea to introduce some oil into a pcp when putting in the air.Just a drop to oil the regulaters o rings.
  25. I got the ram from theobens .I have put an XS spring in my gun now with a tight fitting spring guide that I made from derlin .and a tophat .I like it a lot more than the gas ram .
