  1. As above an excellent rifle to get your hands dirty messing around with, had hours of fun with mine and just keeps on going, just ordered a new barrel to make a carbine option!
  2. It uses both to fill the tube once the cap is tightened you undo it half a turn t help release the gas to fill the tube, as previously stated u can use one empty one but you get less shots, Cheers Tony
  3. No need for the adapter pal, and the barrel is standard no need to raise it as a HPA tank fits without fouling. Cheers Tony
  4. You don't need any adapters, it's really straight forward, If anyone needs talking through or wants me to do it for them PM me at ruffaroundthehedges@gmail.com Cheers Tony
  5. I think iv explained things a bit wrong, the brass adaptor in the gun as standard needs removing to fit a HPA tank. This conversion only works with a xs79. Step 1 - remove brass adapter from gun just pass a screwdriver through the holes and unscrew. Step 2 - remove the barrel - by removing stock, barrel band and grub screw in barrel it then pulls out if the breech. Step 3 - screw in the HPA tank and shim it so the fill nipple doesn't get in the way of refitting the barrel. Step 4 - reassemble. Have the tank filled up Be careful of power in increases, air is thinner than co2 an
  6. George - if yo remove the brass adaptor the threads in the 79 are paintball threads so the buddy bottle fits the same. The rifle was originally designed to run off a 9oz paintball co2 tank but they are no longer available in a small enough diameter to fit beneath the barrel without fouling it, the black fill block which the brass adaptor fits into is a female paintball thread. To fit the HPA tank you need a 13ci 3000psi model from a paintball shop, mine is a guerrilla air model. You need to remove the barrell to screw the bottle in and shim it up to fit without so the fill nipple doesn't foul
  7. I converted my xs79 over to HPA £45 for regulated buddy bottle normally used for paintball, easy as peas! The stock is modified but it works on the standard rifle. Once fitted properly works just like a PCP . Cheers Tony
  8. Use what you've got to good effect regardless of cal., learn your rifles capabilities and your own and you won't go wrong! Cheers Tony
  9. Yea no worries pal, I was shooting ferrals with the rat catcher last year in a basement to a car park with its most accurate pellet, the AA Diablo Hunter slightly pointed and it had no issues hitting through the breast or shoulder into the vital organs. The rifle is sub 10ftlb so I guess the pellets been pointed helped it hit the spot I think generally a blunt or domed pellet would do more damage ballistic wise but maybe struggle with penetration, just a thought. Happy hunting Cheers tony
  10. This any good for ye pal? Shoot just under the crop according to the pic Although if the crop is full it will interfere with the pellets travel, but at least you can see the anatomy of the humble pigeon Cheers tony
  11. FYI I'm in South Yorkshire and the guns can be working or otherwise!
  12. I am on the hunt for additional air rifles to help feed my hobby which is tinkering with the Chinese CO2 rifles, if you have an unwanted air rifle that fits the description and you need some beer tokens or a bit of cash then drop me a message all offers welcome, Cheers Tony Ruffaroundthehedges@gmail.com
