Thanks for the replys guys,he is good on paper and he said his heart wasnt pumping but it could have been so meny different things that made him miss .Maybe he will get lucky next time .OH yes by the way i forgot to say that during his training for the navy he was top shot in his group ,must have been the upbringing
  4. cheers mate, better clean miss than a deer walking about with something missing
  5. My son is 8 months in to navy life and only comes home now and then,he has always been keen on shooting and is not a bad shot,i took him out last night for his first deer a munty buck i earmaked for him.We walked into a small clearing in the wood a little late really should have been sooner but as we came into the clearing there was a munty 100 yards in front of us,we got down and moved forward 10 yards to get a clear shot. When we looked back up there was three brown patchs and though the scope i could see munty doe and buck and a fox all within 10 yards of each other.I got my son to lay down
  6. shame u r so far away i could have set you up on one
  7. hi foxdropper, i just had a munty measured at the midland which made silver ,the left main beam was 11.7cm and the right 9.9cm, the brow tines were different sizes ,they said if it would have been symnetrical it would have made gold, silver is 58.5 points and gold is 61.I think if they over 11cm and pretty level they should make gold
  8. Hi Elmo i see where your coming from, ive got an old wooden stock tikka t3 with a T8 mod and bipod which i think is weighty ,i would go for a lot lighter mod next time if i could find one,i wonder how they would compare in weight ? cheers jay r
