  1. Well had a decent end to the season, plenty geese and duck up at Findhorn area bag a good number but missed more. tried a couple of new spots for the first time and will be back to try them again next season. Shot the bay twice and seen the usual 15+ guns with hides that should need planning permission down in "Cowboys Corner" first lot that went over them were met with a barrage of shots that would fear you, watching through the bins i seen one winged bird come down....Then watched as 2guns walked straight out into the mud to retrieve it which then lifted eveything else on the estuary and sent
  2. found it chief, if your up that way week starting 13th Feb maybe bump into you! ATB
  3. Will defo be giving them spots a try...Wheres mcdermotts old place?? you back up this season at all?

  7. Thats me booked off the last week of the season with a week in my mates family cottage in Findhorn....With a night or 2 in Tain if we want, Hopefully find the geese this time.lol
  8. Will be up staying a week in Finhorn end of Jan time, My mates family hav e a house there we use so hopefully get a bit a couple of birds then. we are going do a bit more exploring round the cromarty and dornoch etc this time though.
  9. Aye i knew eddie well myself one of the auld school. will give you a pm on details of the shooting.
  10. Arite lads your right we need some hard weather. was out for a morning flight and seen a couple hundred geese flighting over but nothing on the estuary...need to get all the flight ponds and lochs nearby frozen up that always brings them to the shore. due some big winds this weekend by what am hearing so atleast it will feel like wildfowling weather whether the birds play the game is debateable lol..Chris if your anywhere near newburgh you get a shot off the estuary but most of the decoying in Aberdeenshire is fooked with all the guides on it.
  11. im from Newburgh chief bout 20-mins fae inverurie right on the coast. Findhorns my second estuary im up there as much as possible. just looking for somebody local for updates on bird numbers and conditions etc...its a good hour and a half fae mine so would be fine to get a set of eyes up there to speak to before any trips i make. You do a lot of fowling when your up there?
  12. Just looking for any locals from up that way for a blether..
  13. Same thing happening down here on the ythan mate, Mini bus of 10guns turned up 2weeks ago and 8 of them proceeded to let rip at a skien that were atleast 250yds up. now the geese just head for a nearby loch and dont even look at the estuary!! Was up at findhorn this week and things are the same up there aswell..i get the feeling these travelling guns are so desperate for a goose they just shoot on sight injuring more birds than they drop!!
  14. I would get 2 ferts mate they like a bit of company plus gives you more options for working aswell. As for the housing I would build as big as i could because u will prob end up getting a bigger team of ferts as the permission grows!! ATB
