  1. Hi. I am a member of a couple of small, friendly, clay pigeon shooting clubs near Skipton in North Yorkshire. One has just launched a website to provide information. CHECK IT OUT ! http://www.penyghent-clay-shooting.org.uk
  2. I believe that it is possible to get a Joint Certificate, so that she could use your guns & visa versa? This would possibly sort any storage problems? I know somebody who has done this with his son. Maybe somebody on here has more personal knowledge of a Joint ticket? Only hope that your Mrs doesn't end up shooting better than you do, this happened to my mate & he's always joking about it.
  3. Hi. I was in my local gun shop the other day & spotted the Browning Buckmark .22LR semi-auto rifle, it is nice & light and thought that it would make a good bunny plinker. Has anybody got one, could you let us know of any pros or cons? Cheers Steve
  4. Hiya Chris. Have you found one yet? Noticed one in the 'Sales' section, from Wheeler lines. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/159170-nuttall-wheeler-pups/ ATB Ste
  5. Nice, solid looking young Patt, good luck with him. Hope mine turns out as well, she's only 4 weeks old at mo, went to see her for 1st time yesterday. Ste
  6. Went out Thurs night & got first fox at over 150 yrds, using a Cluson Lazerlite (without filter) it is great lamp with good distance. Do the filters spook them less & how much does it reduce the distance? ....Which filter is best? Ste
  7. Looks like you had good night, well done mate. Looking at the magazines, it looks like a CZ 452 ? A local pub near me pays £1.50 for decent size bunnies. Steve
  8. Maybe because had shotguns for over 15 yrs? Maybe because put in permission for too many pieces of land to put on certificate? 5 large farms & over 3k acres. Must admit that the 1st question that my RFD asked was " How the hell did you manage that?" BUT would not give me 'Target shooting', until had been made a full member of a recognised Rifle Club, am full member in a couple of weeks & will have to send certificate back for target to be added. I think that each granting force, for all the different areas, have different criteria?
  9. Used the scopes onto the rifles mentioned. Zeroed .22LR @ 50yrds, .17 @ 100yrds & .223 - 1" high @ 100yrds. Out lamping Thurs night (well nearly Fri morning, didn't go dark till after 11pm) & got first fox at over 150 yrds, hopefully 1st of many. Steve
  10. Hi Declan. How did your interview go, did you get everything that you asked for? Mine came thro 3 weeks after the interview, & amazingly an open ticket on 1st application. Steve
  11. Correct. Just be relaxed & pleasant. Make sure you have a good reason for each of the calibres that you are applying for (e.g target shooting, vermin, small game, foxes, etc) & that you are aware of safety when shooting: It is an offence to have any firearm in a public place, unless safely covered with a securely fastened gun cover that prevents it from being fired. Never load a gun until it is safe to fire it. Always ensure that you are authorised by the landowner or person with the sporting rights to shoot where you intend to, and that you know precisely where the bo
  12. Hi. Am looking for an all round 4x4, something can get across fields in & put dog in the back. Saw a Nissan X Trail on local supermarket car park, seems to have good ground clearance & sounds like reasonable fuel consumption ? Anybody had any experience of them ? Cheers Steve
  13. I was after a pure bred Patterdale terrier (not a cross) & I've just bought a pup, litter was born 22nd May. I visited & saw the parents a couple of months ago, all working stock with great temperament. I know that the litter had 3 reserved, even before litter was born, still have a 3 left. http://siamaiden.synthasite.com/available.php Good luck with your search.
