  1. Thanks for that Dan, there seems to be loads of birds going missing all over the country including one of ours, will keep an eye out for anything matching that description around that area on other forums! Carol
  2. Not sure where Accrington is, but there is a thread on a falconry forum saying large bird been seen being mobed by crows in Cumbria, but thats all it says! Carol
  3. Saw the programme a few years ago, its good! There is a lot going around on facebook about a EEO cull being iminent, but if they are protected then how can they do that, there are probably a lot more Harris Hawks and the like out there killing wild birds! Not to mention the wild birds of prey getting into tussles with falconers birds! Carol
  4. As said by others, the bird needs to be got out of the avairy and manned/walked round plenty of different places, we normally walk round with birds on the glove whilst walking dogs etc, or take out whilst flying other birds, in the house (if allowed by other half), in garden, take to friends houses and sit in their gardens. If the bird is only used to one place then she will only want to do things ie eat, jump over, etc in that one place! As also said the weight needs to be checked, as your mate starts dropping her weight the need for food will take over and she will be more likely to come o

Try a course, or there is a bird of prey centre near you , contact them for info, try and get to know some people already involved with falconry. Yes it can be hard work, long hours at times, travelling etc but if you enjoy falconry then its not only a way to earn some money but also to get out with birds! Carol
