    Most the lads n the band were English born. I think it wouldn't have happened if they were born and bred in Ireland. Somehow the mix of punk/ traditional Irish music worked, and resonated with a lot of people.

    Same here, and I'm a huge fan. Saw him in concert many times, and met him once when he walked into my local pub, many moons ago. Just down to earth sort, and had time to chat to everyone. Got up and done few tunes with the band that was playing that night too.

    Just been watching Shane's funeral. Went down just like I feel he'd want it. Can't remember if I've ever seen people dance in a church before, never mind, at a funeral.

    The nurse on the ward said there was no hope for her, day after the incident. Therefore, their keeping her alive, just to let everything calm down. Feel sorry for the poor family.

    Yep! Also, he was born on Christmas day. Was hoping he'd make it to there, but knew when he was discharged from hospital, that it wasn't going to be long.

    That was my first guess when the story broke, but don't know. Could be some sort of connection, or totally random. Be a while before they reveal the full story Maybe that's how they knew it wasn't terrorist related, just an hour after the incident. Just speculation
