  1. the way i have shot rats before is a couple of tins of sardines anything like that make a couple of holes in the top and stake it firmly to the ground make sure the rats cant pick any food to take back to the nest, holes only big enough to let scent and oil out and when they start licking the tin pick them off, have fun Cheers mate, great tip, il let you know how it goes
  2. HI all I've just got some new permission for lamping rabbits with the dog and my BSA Ultra I was talking with the owner of the farm who says it's overrun with rats  I have shot quite a few rats in farm buildings before but I think I can get a good haul at this place so i want to be as efficient as i can! I've read a few tips online, some say leave the dead rats there and the others will come to investigate, others say that they will be put off by the dead rat being there!anyone got any tips for me so I can clear up here??They dont have to be about leaving rats there or not, j
  3. wish you all the best with her mate she should be smart Cheers mate, il try and get some better pics up of her soon and update how shes getting on
  4. Also, she's only 21 inch tts, thought she'd be taller. im not complaining at all btw, shes cracking and quicker than i was expecting, just not quite what i was expecting her to be in build etc. Im taking her out tonight for the first time with the lamp so we'l see how she does rich
  5. Yeh just been looking through some pics i can find online, looking quite similar, nothing with quite the same size ears though!cheers
  6. Hi I've always been more into gundogs than lurchers but enjoy going lamping with mates so decided to get one myslef but im not too hot on lurchers so i thought id ask the experts!I got a 3/4 collie 1/4 greyhound 8 month old bitch on the reconmendation of my mate. I got her for lamping rabbits mainly. I was told she would be more than fast enough, she looks good so I was/am happy. but she doesnt look to me like the breeding would suggest. What would you say shes got in her?I've asked again about the sire but just got reassured that he is collie/greyhound Cheers Rich
