  1. will post the pictures later when i knock of work, my ego is in need of a massage.
  2. Question the proficiency of a trapper who takes photos before dispatch, don't go on Australian or American forums you knob, for that matter don't watch American hunting shows. Takes 2 seconds to get a photo. Also the other knob who said traps are inhumane, tell me have you seen a fox die from a bait? Baits are also indiscriminate whatever picks it up dies and its not quickly or humanely, Don't try and tar trappers with the same brush shag everything i do is legal i check my traps everyday so don't write your rubbish on here because clearly you are uneducated on the subject.
  3. It has seemed to have ruffled a few feathers... and the fellas comment above about wannabe pest controllers. Fair dinkum mate so what if people want to give it a go. Who are you to say otherwise, Seems there are a select few on this forum who seem to spend too much time on here putting people down . Because "thats not what i would do" you old fellas really need to get over yourselves and get rid of this whole anti attitude with your authoritarian bullshit.
  4. Well i guess you could say there is no big deal in seeing any animal "dead" whether it be shot or trapped. Hell why would you even look at a picture of fish caught if you have been there done that? Well i think i will stick to the Australian forums where people arent so "sensitive".
  5. Would anyone mind if i posted a few photos of some trapping from Australia. The Animals are still alive in the photos and are dispatched humanely inmediately after the picture has been taken. The traps used are foothold traps rubber jawed with a chain that has a shock spring to prevent the animal from jarring itself and crunch proof swivels to prevent the chain from kinking. These traps are legal for use i Aus. Just thought i would post this, because last time i uploaded photos a few people got their nose out of joint. The animals in the photos are foxes and feral cats.
  6. Traps are checked first thing in the morning mate so they don't sit in the sun for hours. And if its not possible to check the traps at a reasonable time or are unable to check them you either pull them out or don't set them. If the traps were as bad as people thought they were or make them out to be I would have no fingers left.
  7. So how do you know that the foxes weren't humanely killed mate?
  8. Trapping in Australia is actually a necessary tool used for the control of fox, wild dogs and feral cats as numbers are out of control and if the alternatives baiting and shooting worked there wouldn't be the numbers that there are? But some people don't seem to comprehend that. Thought so called fellow "hunters" would agree but apparently they are scared of giving anti's ammunition. As far as i'm concerned i am not as stated before traps have to meet certain requirements and tough laws are put in place to ensure the animals welfare. So as i said I'm not worried because everything i'm doing is
  9. No less than a cage trap I would imagine.
  10. Thanks guys, J darcy the lures I used for two of the foxes I purchased so I'm not sure what's in them I know there is fox glands in them, and for the other one was just fox urine with sheep heart for the bait.
  11. Haha if it was cruel it wouldn't be legal here in Australia shag and the traps are offset which means there is a gap in the jaws and they are padded with rubber, they have to be by law also trap chains are fitted with several swivels and shock springs to also minimise damage. Most foxes after initially being caught carry on but after a while soon settle down as they are not in pain... As I said if it caused any pain to the animal caught they wouldn't be legal especially in my state.
  12. That's an odd looking dog proof trap, they are usually a cylindrical shape, there are a few different brands of of that trap and obviously different variations.
  13. Excuse my spelling mistake in the title, didn't check it sorry.
  14. Thought I would put up a few photos of some foxes I trapped.
  15. Well done mate. Always seems to happen when ya go ferreting alone.
