  1. Yes, perfectly good gun for HFT but shot count is a little low so if you don't get many stoppages where you have to shoot the round off into the ground you should be able to complete a 30 shot course. We have a club that meets every Sunday in Martley Worcester (Nomads) so feel free to come over any Sunday around 9.30.

  2. I'm watching it all morning. All the Muslims bar one showed no compassion no sadness. Just things like there was no fire alarms, u can clearly here them, I saw it first, I raised the alarm, nothing like please help the ppl trapped. Nothing like the fire brigade have been brilliant. Just me me me. There all experts. Even the black women when asked if she's been looked after smacks her lips together giving out about somebody eating all the bananas and apples.

Not sure what news channel you are watching but I see nothing like what you say. These people are in shock and of those being interviewed (apparently muslims) are all regaling the horror of what they have seen. Agonising was the word that one chap reported and I can only imagine the scene he described.

I understand the block was recently converted to gas.

  3.

Look at some stats. The best shooters in the country often take 30 shots every Sunday morning. Their targets are anything from 8-45 yards. Their longest shots will be kill-zones from between 30mm & 40mm somewhat larger than the 1" kill that we look for when hunting. They average around 57 so that's three misses. They practice a lot, are very consistent with some of the best equipment out there. They are supremely confident and they have to take the shot. The one thing they do not have to think about is movement of the target and that for me is the key reason for keeping it to a maximum of 40 yards. No matter how good/confident you think you are you have absolutely no control over what the quarry is about to do.

These stats.. without sounding arsey..the 3 misses they average, is it always the 40+ yarder's?

I would say that it's the 15mm kill at up to 25 yards that catches most of them out.

  5. I would suggest a fairly good pair of binoculars (nothing massive). These will provide some decent images of messiers/clusters and most definitely all four moons of Jupiter. Around the 5th late morning you might see the alignment of the 5 planets low in the sky. I chased clear sky's for years going to start parties in the darkest areas and gave up eventually due to the weather conditions. I spent over £12K on specialised equipment and lenses and I can honestly say I had as much fun with a pair of ED binoculars. Stargazerslounge is the forum for the beginner.

  6. I visited the Solway for twenty years and each year saw a decline in the numbers. I seriously believe it was due to overshooting. The last ten years I have gone there on my annual pilgimage as a bird watcher and last year particularly I saw a marked increase in pink numbers. Just behind the Powfoot Hotel & Golf course on the road to Newbie the fields were covered in them. However, its still nothing like the numbers we saw in the 80's & 90's. Perhaps those who live around the area have different observations.

  7. I have sold three MK4IS in the last twelve months. The two sporter stocks (one really nice) went for £750 without a scope and was boxed. The thumb-hole went for £650 as the stock was mediocre. I hate electronics but I can say hand on heart that each one of them matched or bettered every other rifle I ever owned on an accuracy level

  8. I had one within a week of them hitting the shops. I thought the glass was very good for the price. Build quality was excellent and the gradients on the s/w concurred with the distances I measured out. Having used the MAP6A for so long though I just couldn't get used to the ret so sold it shortly after. Quite a few appear on the HFT circuit so they appear to be working for some. If like me you suffer from parallax issues then consider the Viper Connects (if pcp) as the one I am trialling has completely eliminated the issue.
