  1. If this is the MAP6A (which I think it is) then it is my preference over the 1/2 mil-dot. I find the stadia lines allow for a more precise aiming method. I find the thicker 1/2 MD too thick and clumsy in comparison.
  2. BSA Scorpion Carbine .177 single shot in a lovely ambidextrous Walnut and Cocobolo custom stock made by Matty. The action is in very good condition. The gun has also been fitted with a R-10 trigger blade. The set-up also features an XTX pressure gauge. Threaded for a silencer. The custom stock has an adjustable cheek piece and butt pad. The stock is in excellent condition with wax finished sheen, the wood also has some lovely grain (also pictured). NO dings or dents. A one off for £350. Collection only (Birmingham). Sold. Thanks for the use of the forum.
  3. They agreed to look at a duff scope I got second hand and although it was out of warranty they sent a brand new scope instead of repairing it. Only two weeks ago I asked for the price of a replacement binocular case and they sent me a new one with all the attachments gratis. They will get my business every time.
  4. I met the guy. Didn't turn out too well as I believed him to be honest at the time but my opinion of him soon changed. I contacted him to but a rifle. I turned up at his squat (not believing this could be hospitable by anyone let alone a child) and he handed me the rifle to try. Wasn't particularly impressed with the condition, not as described but I had to get away so I ran two magazines worth into trees. No target so couldn't really tell what was happening downstream. I took a punt foolishly and went home. Later that day I contacted him to say magazines were jamming pellets, indexing wa
  5. I don't think they do the Endurance in ED. Frontier, Prostalk, Sapphire & Panorama all ED. I may be wrong. There's a pair of Prostalk in the sales section
  6. No problem, good question. I have owned every single model of Hawke ED binoculars but I never tried the Pro-stalk. I got these after having my Frontier ED's stolen but they are not what I would say are good birding binoculars. For the hunter, these provide an outstanding performance to cost ratio. Aside my Zeiss Dialyt 8 x 56 these are the better binocular matching the Zeiss low light performance. On a clarity scale they outperform them entirely. However, they are just too heavy for me to lug around the coasts which is where I do all my birding. I am back to my Frontiers at nearly half the we
  7. Hawke Pro-Stalk ED 10 x 56 binoculars. Tried out in the garden only and absolutely new & mint. Unmarked lenses, straps not fitted to bino’s or case. Lens cloth unused also. Case and lens covers included. These are listed on the Hawke website at £329. I am looking to sell for £190 or swap for a decent scope around £190-£200 mark. These really are up there with the Alpha’s. SOLD
  8. The Panorama comes in MAP6A, not MAP 6 iirc. The 1/2 mildot in comparison to the MAP6A is cluttered, the MAP6A has fine stadia lines with no dots.
  9. It is a great place but I hope they do some strimming before you get there. Two of us gave up on the course on Saturday as lots of the pegs were missing and you couldn't get a shot at the targets due to the undergrowth. Plinking range as ever was great.
  10. Good result. Good example for those who find themselves in a similar situation.
  11. All my schooling has taught me to identify a dictator by their traits, beliefs & actions. I never studied her policies as they were secondary to what I witnessed in the woman herself. She was an enigmatic leader for sure but one that put her principles above all else even when she knew they were to the detriment of the country; that's why she was ousted by her own party. If she did so much good for the country how come we're in such a mess today. For me she is up there with the very worst dictators in our short history.
  12. I wish I could get there and repay some of the kindness both Davy & Si shown to another forum (AGF) and the charity event they were holding last weekend. I vow to one day repay the kindness when these guys need a little help. Massive thanks to those that contributed, it's been well praised on the said forum. Thanks again boys.
  13. Worth waiting for for sure, superb account of not only the rifle but some excellent displays of customer service and pretty bad luck. For me, having an engineering background, I would have held onto it and wanted desperately to understand what was the reason that two rifles would display the same characteristics regardless of what AA were prepared to admit or not. But then again I have a selection to choose from and no-one should have to do the qc for AA on a £500 rifle. I just can't get over two rifles with the same issue and not having heard anything like it until now. Will await to see if a
  14. Same boat here. Brand new TX HC and just got back from Furnace Mill. Unfettled, I was shocked at the grouping I was getting; clover leafing at 50 yards which is not my usual distance for practice but lot's of fun. I can do that with a PCP all day but a springer has never produced that sort of grouping for me before and that includes my SFS HW97. Delighted with it really so may hang onto this one.
  15. Back to the HW/PS discussion. Having owned many new TX's and numerous HW's of all sorts I can't ever remember having a rogue one and certainly not one that needed tuning to make it half decent. I did go the Tony Wall route on a 97 and nice it was too. The one thing that would put me off any manufacturer is the after sales support. If I ever felt that the support was less than very good that alone would put me off that manufacturer completely. In 40 years of airgunning I never had to send a rifle back.
  16. I think I know what you mean Roger and the fallout should remain in private so the rest of us can get on with the topic in hand. The internet provides the perfect vehicle to sling mud and disrespect someone who you've probably not even met. Forums of every kind are the same and rarely provide for a truly polite society. The trick is to not take it too seriously and remember why we are all here in the first place. Good shooting Rog.
  17. I expect anyone going to purchase a PS this weekend will have done quite some research already and hardly likely to be put off by a single review whatever its content.
  18. If recent HFT results are a factor in your choice then at the BRC last week the top 10 shooters boasted a 50/50 spread over HW & AA. HW77 (well the shooter) taking top honours. Pedigrees such as they have any of the above are winners.
