  1. j.p. told me 20 years ago that you only lose a good dog, and that you cant lose a bad un.... looking back how true.
  2. Definitely it can be worth! I'm new in Patterdales, but I know a lot APBT-history. A bad worker (from a proven stock) can be a good producer, and a good worker can be a bad producer. If you only breed best to best you will not be satisfied. The line and the producing ability is more important. couldnt agree more with you hagen, most lads with a few years behind them have seen supposed 'super matings'of top class working dogs put to top bitches and yet produce nothing, while other families/studs seem to keep on producing the goods, ie spartacus! also when given to kg spartacus was by a

  4. Every 10 generations or so the bull should go in to bring the bone and head size up, if you don't breed back to staff bull blood they get snipey heads in your line or strain of terrier, to breed bull blood out you use different lines of terriers or all the same lakeys, border lakelands, patterdales, jack russells yep absolutely. and some of the first bull crossess are the best diggin dogs??
  5. put ad on for friend, sire 3/4 greyhoundwheaten, dam:saluki greyhound/bull greyhound. top workers.dogs £150 bitches £175, message me for more details phone number etc.
  6. yep me too, someimes the best advice is the hardest to take??? but it still needs doing
  7. new born baby....biting dog...no brainer it has to go
  8. This is without doubt ,THE best post of all time and silences all but those who know better . bang on chris, pics prove nothing and besides who has a pic of smithy, mccoy or nigger working??also, some of the best producing animals were nothing special, a good producer is a good passer on of genes, and vice versa top dogs can sometimes be really poor producers. i see it a bit like eye colour , me and the missus have dark blue and brown eyes respectively and have produced one brown, one light blue and one slate couloured eyes in our offspring?? imho the idea that worker to worker is the on
  9. never heard of a strain but have definitely seen one dig!! a lad i know many years since used one for digging!!not much noise!! ended in tears of course dog lasted until 3 years of age i believe???
  10. i though samson was outta sj s tim(stevens/harcombes jack(old gouldy)??i believe samson is throwin some proper pups, anybody know anything/seen any??? i have seen one which was good. is tim still alive??? are yours out of samson mate????
  11. now this could get.........interesting????
  12. brill post mate i absolutely agree. and it would be brill if lads with a good bitch could access the best studs around(even if they are not in that persons sphere of friends). nixy said in an earlier post that greyhound, horses were not like terrier breeders, i disagree, they are striving for THE BEST POSSIBLE performance animals, same as genuine terrier lads. and to do that you need top studs, simple as. and so to me its easy, line breed to top studs=quality dogs??? really see the points you and others have brought forward, brill ,and i still dont think it was a total crap idea either!!! lol. l
  13. thanks lads wil let you know how i go on
