  1. I think she's a nice looking bitch. Coat looks ok . Looks like she's moulting. Feet look a bit flat but some saluki types do have flat feet.
  2. My chocolate 2yr old cocker has done the same on a pheasant shoot. She's been doing brilliant on her first season. But a very wet day recently with lots of pheasants in a thick hedge. The birds were wet so we're running not flushing and she pegged one I couldn't get in the hedge to scold her. She came out retrieving the pheasant to hand looking very pleased with herself. I ignored her took the bird off her dispatched it. Training excercises since that have been her sitting up and me throwing tennis balls all round her and telling her to leave . Then calling her away or picking them up myself.
  3. To get mine use to gunshot. I use an app which I blue tooth to my sons beats pill so you can adjust the volume if they look uncomfortable while I'm feeding them. I do this every now and again with my pup my older too aren't bothered as out on shoots all the time. But I did them when they were pups & I worked a dream with them & my pup is coming on fine. He really isn't bothered by it at all.

  15. Having trouble teaching one of my spaniels this command. Have tryed all sorts. Any advice guys? Had great advice of here from a guy for teaching my spaniel to stop & hup. Got a different issue with another? Lol. Any advice welcome. Thanks
  16. I agree lab. It's what works for the individual & what we want from our dogs. But I no what you mean bout making dogs robotic. I try to let the dog find its own way unless I can see her going wrong & that's where training pays dividends.
  17. Ive found previously that when a dog stops at distance standing it's easier for them to creep forward. When in the hup or down its obviously harder for them to do this. Therefore they drop to shot as the saying goes. I've never taught mine to down to the stop whistle I feel a hup is good enough but if they go into the down that's fine as long as they stay in that position & don't move until told. That's my reasoning. But each to there own. Casso knows his stuff as I said I'm not a novice at gundog training. & never heard of this technique & it's amazing how quick she got it after w

  19. Thanks guys. Especially casso. Did it today & it took 20 mins for her to get. She huped & stayed at distance on a table to the hup. Didn't need to go all the way just stop & hup so used this to my advantage. While it was going well off the table in the garden I took her to some rough ground where I walk her & she did the command 4 times. Brilliant. Was well happy & she looked at me like to say ' well I get that why didn't you do that in the first place'. Will train all further dogs this way as it works well & they really get it. Thanks once again.
  20. Got a chocolate cocker bitch just 12 mths. Bought her at 9 mths old she has come on well considering she was a pet & new nothing. She comes to the whistle will retrieve from the water to hand. She will quarter and turn to the whistle, blind retrieve,I can send her to 3 different types of dummy, her response to hand signals is good, she is sound to fireworks and gunshot. But she will not stop & hup at distance even a small distance she returns then hups. She very bright, strong willed & super hyped. Have tryed all the training methods I no to correct it but she still won't do it. My spri
  21. Ive got some for sale. White & red?
  22. Field Marshall knows I work for the NDTR. I have worked for them for 15 years. All mine are tattooed or were as I don't have running dogs now. My spaniels are all done. It's safer in my opinon as chips move & usually end up in the from legs where they don't scan them. Think ear tattoo should be good enough as it is another legal ID if you don't want a chip?
  23. Racing collars & saluki tassel still for sale
