  5. hi i trained 2 cocker spaineils and the best you can do is leave your dog until it at least 11 months old mate. all you need to do till then is get him to come back to you forget the rabbit hunnting he is to young all you wil do is wreck the dog he is not fully grown and when he chases them he can keep up and wil wine and you try and stop that wait til he is fully grown and he will learn more. i been told best to lose one year with a dog and not the next 8 just take you time and listen to your dog in time you will no what i mean like i said i`m in no hurry to get him out catching
  6. i think i know what your saying he has a very good kill instint he has a toy cat that is the size of a rabbit (not as heavy)but the first thing he does when he gets it is to grab the neck and give it a good flick.he has done this from about 6 weeks when we got him.might try him for pigeons to.
  7. Hi all bit of training info required please. got a young jack russell pup dog that i want to train for a bit of ratting and rabbiting. the dog is only 13 weeks old and is aready start to follow basic instruction well (sit stay and fetch) he has a fave toy that he likes to chase and bring back to me and will drop at my feet maybe 7 out of 10 times. he will search for it if i throw it and hide behind my back. now for the question. i`m in no hurry it take as long as it takes do i keep doing what i`m doing untill the pup does retrieve to me every time with his toy
