hope your family do stay safe mate I,m not a fan of war in any shape, and I probably see things very different to most but all these proxy wars going on are now flowing out into the open and it’s because the yanks are weak mate and just as we are supplying the Ukraine and Israel so to will China and Russia be supplying the other sides as has been going on for years just now it’s no secret very worrying times because the yanks would hit the button rather than loose face think some scary times ahead including much more home grown terror on our own streets to come
Are we weak? Or simply disinterested? We have challenges enough at home.

My son is currently doing GCSE photography. We bought him a Nikon, simply because that's what his school advised as it's the ones they use. I think it's a D3200? Do you know if they're any good? Re the zoom/telephoto lens; which would be best to pair with it for wildlife photography? I think he has two lenses but they're a general purpose one and a makro as he was into his close-up work when we bought it.
I have a D3100. I think I bought it a week before the 3200 came out. Mine is decent, and very rugged. I would suggest one of the Nikkor kit zooms in at least 300mm.

Did someone import white tailed deer from the states? Or Sweden?

Hounds like that tend to have short careers. lol
I went bobcat hunting with hounds last year. Plott Hounds, and Treeing Walkers. They caught one on the ground and did most of the work. I stepped on its chest to finish the job.
-15 degrees Celsius that day.

you might be right , but the way i see it, if the old dogs in question have deff give 100% in the hunting field all there life , i think it only fair to the animal to show some compassion to it . dont get me wrong if you had fecker dont hunt for and only him self, picks his runs, or wont do a fox, or bigger stuff, etc. i wouldn't keep it . so if they been hard working dog for 8- 9 years i look after them. it very rare that you have kennel full of all similar ability , thats why there lot in pounds etc .My last 2 dogs bryn who was very good rabbit dog, but nothing else . i wanted dog do the things bryn wouldn't , and old Buck deff ticked the boxes for me. funny thing a mate from brum popped over to see me , since ive lost my wife , he never seen Buck at his best say 2- 6 year old . but he said to me you could see he been great lamp the way moving about now, if seen something scented somthing like today. he had lurcher x lurcher pit x deerhound grey bitch, he got a buzz watch her moving he come to life then lol, we had great 1 1 /2 hour , it done me good as well , another great mate for me. he not on any hunting site , we met 40 years ago whippet racing in the black country , he even said maybe we might go back to them once our old lurchers have gone , maybe ?? but old Buck ok for couple more years the way went after a munjack today
I'm sorry for your loss Bird. It's the hardest thing in life.
I do remember your posts and your pics of Bryn. One in particular where he was jumping a gate with a pheasant. I also remember when you got Buck. I'm glad he's done well by you.

Here is my old fellow. Closing in on 13 years and still runs a little when the mood strikes. Couldn't care less about rabbits though.

Russia Ukraine WW3

I don't know. Norway, and a few others are stepping up support and France is getting ready to send in "support troops". It's not like we have not seen this before, is it?
It might help to remember. From the west's perspective, it's not really about Ukraine. Plucky soldiers that they have turned out to be.
