  1. Nice rifle. Seems to shoot well, not had much practice yet though but snapped it up as it was a steal. Need to find a good scope now!
  2. cheers fellas. off to buy today, will let u know how i get on...
  3. tea & cake seems to work a charm! hope the fitting goes well.
  4. For firearms this is the vague nonsence that bands throughout the firearms rules 1989 'firearms... must be stored securely to prevent, as far as is reasonably practicable, unauthorised people taking or using them.' Where I live the conditions the police set out make it impossible to fit into a modern timber-framed house (which the majority are round here ) What you've described sounds good, depends really on the copper who checks the storage as part of your cert. application. Make them tea/coffee when they visit & ply them with as much cake as possible. Try not to twitch too m
  5. Thanks both. Am pretty much decided upon a 22-250 want it for foxing and other long range on-ground vermin mostly crows etc. Just wondered if anyone has a Remington 700 out there & would recommend one?
  6. Hi all, Have seen a 22-250 Remington 700, think its a BDL model advertised recently and wondered what you all thought of this as a 22-250... any comments? Good/bad/ugly? Ta.
  7. Seems like a good deal. If it was nearer I'd be interested.
  8. Thats pretty good mate! I'm as happy as a squirrel in a bag of nuts if I get my terrier to sit still at all... hang on whats going on back left - are there pups on the way???
  9. Not got a spaniel of my own yet although a sprocker is top of the list late this/early next year... I usually shoot with a friend when a dog is required and we use his working cocker bitch. he was given her by someone who didn't have the time to train her properly now after a bit of cajoling (& a whole load of laughs & fffff's) she is coming along nicely, really should get my own now though.
  10. Thanks for that Geoff , your right it was just an informal pic to start me out on the forums, and i appreciated the good comments i received. As for pure finnish i can obviously see he's a wind up merchant just trying to get a rise out of people. Lee Nice looking dogs mate, takes a bit of doing getting 4 springers to sit still too!! p.s. Jog on pure finnish, you are a solid gold pedigree tickturd.
  11. Good luck with the sale, if it was later in the year I would be interested! I know of two sprockers locally who are worked & they do seem to bring the best of both worlds to the field. No wonder people want these, they are 50% less initially than your average cocker & no doubt a shed load less in vets fees over a lifetime too... hopefully a healthy, happy breed one which is growing more & more popular. All the best.
  12. Looking at a baikal 410 model 18 today. also seen a synthetic stock version online for the same or newer baikal 410, had 3" chambers, single barrel. Anyone had or got this one? or what does everyone think compared to say a mossberg?? any info would be great. Ta
