  7. A local guy stopped me today to see if i knew anyone who would be intrested in his gear as he is packing in shooting , he wants to sell it as a job lot ideally so dont ask to split, if it dosent sell he may consider splitting later but not at the moment. 8. High seats are not really an option as there is nowhere to site them on my permission,(and are they really a practical option for the odd hare?) although there is one sited in a surrounding field (and a shot fox in the hedge bottom) which leads me to believe the surrounding ground is passed for firearms (and bigger calibres than my requirements at that). As i suspected elevation sounds to be the key, so will be shooting from sticks be enough elevation to be deemed acceptible as some parts of the land are not really drivable without a 4x4. Is there any other options other than elevation? (I s
  9. Having gained more permission I'm tempted to apply for my FAC, I have one permission that has a flood bank providing a perfect backstop, the bank is around 15 meters beyond the boundry of my permission but I am led to belive that is not any problem. The other permission is over 100 acres ( set amongst hundreds of acres on which I dont have permission) but is totally flat and open and to be totally honest I dont know how this type of land would be shot over, I realise elevation would help but thats not really practical. There are no public rights of way on the land. The main quarry would be rab
  10. Cheers Watchman, looking at your avatar if it's too strong for you you just feed it to the pigs
  11. I,ve just got a new permission with plenty of hares, having never delt with one before I would like to know how to deal with them properly. Firstly I presume you de-pee them right away like rabbit, but then how do you hang them as I've read a couple of conflicting things, do you hang with the guts still in or do you gut then hang? I presume time span is down to personal taste and tempreture? Hang by back feet? Once its been hung would you soak in salt water like rabbit or is hanging doing the same job? Cheers Adam
  12. Get hold of a copy of Febuarys sporting shooter, theres an article in about this faddy stage many lurchers go through apparently.
  13. About my suggestion for making hide poles with the bottom section of electric fence posts, DONT DO IT IT'S A CRAP IDEA Sorry to anybody who has tried it. The problem is when taking all the plastic off so it will fit up the inside of the pole all the strength goes with it, so all thats left for me to say is sorry for wasting yout time lads. Adam
  14. Is it just me but since the THL site has had its new look makeover it has become painfully, almost impossibly slow, I am a long way from the exchange so have slow broadband anyway but the site was a lot more responsive before the new look. Adam
