  1. If his nose is that good he could be put to game no trouble id say. If he can pick up the scent its half the battle hope so bloody useless the last time i took her might be different though she's a gd ferreting dog Its in his nature mate she should be good. Try bring her out with just one proven dog not in a pack she should pick it up. Steadyness is key dont let her too far away from you. aye she was wanting to come with me today but i didnt want the hassle and it was too wet and windy to take her Sure try her the next time. If nothing else the dog will enjoy herself

  7. Thanks to everyone who posted so far. Keep them coming. This thread is not exclussive to spaniels, cockers and pointers. Anyone wants to throw up labs and setters ect. they are more than welcome.
  8. Ya should be proud of that cocker mate a very impressive looking dog even not filled out. Are your labs any good to work?

  10. I see the question now IMO they are both just as easy to train, But it mainly depends on the dog. Male spaniels have to be nipped young so they know you are the dominant figure-or they will think they own you. Although i think female spaniels are a bit more submissive than males, But it really does depend on the dog or bitch. I know well of both sex's and preffer a bitch Also keep the name short and one syllable Cheers Cheers for that mate, I had the name right anyway maybe being submissive can be seen as easier train. I prefer a bitch in a springer myself
  11. Semi retired if I no springers it will be hard make that full retirement. What way is he bred.
  12. If she is a good worker you wont care bout the tail mate. Best of luck and happy hunting
  13. well said. Look better docked alright but will work the same.
  14. I read this thread last night. Went ratting this morning and washed out my JRTs cuts with iodine. Just wanna thank anyone who posted, raised awarness and will help young hunters like me.
  15. Oh no the groundsman is a fool aswel. Quality on that pitch no direction, no tactics and SHITE formation and team selection is fairly poor. At least Comolli is gone maybe our new manager after we get rid of dead weight Ramos can buy his own players.
