  1. I'd either use a silver dorking or a rhode island red. The RIR is dual purpose and the offspring of this crossed with light sussex hens are sex linked i.e the chicks which are pullets are brown and the cockerels are white. This cross is an old fashioned dual purpose cross which would provide replacement laying hens for you and give reasonable meat birds for the table.
  2. I've noticed that this year too... hi what is the best way of straining the vodka/berries, i pass it through muslin a couple of times but still ends up cloudy, tried coffee filter papers these aren't has good as the muslin, any ideas ? We strain the berries off through a sieve and then line the sieve with a doubled piece of kitchen towel roll and strain the liquid through this. Sometimes need to change the paper depending on how many litres you are doing.
  3. I'll look about for a quality second hand scope with and do a bit more saving. Many thanks.
  4. I'm looking for a reasonably cheap and cheerful 50 or 56mm objective 30mm scope to go on a .243. Needs to be less than £350 max. Rifle is used for lamping and stalking. What would anyone recommend ? Thanks.
