I enjoy Ferreting, Stock Car Racing, Interesting Country Pursuits, when I'm not doing electrical work I like to have a day on the farm with me Dad.
  1. An old cupboard, a drill and a Saturday afternoon.... tada!
  2. I had the same problem with Burt. I'm self-employed and, whenever possible, take him with me in the van usually distances between 5-15 miles. I just put up with his spewing till he sorted himself out. I think the less fuss you make about it the less the dog will get stressed when its in the car. He used to get really worried and whine alot for quite a few months, resulting in that horrible familiar smell, but he's perfect now. Another quick hint, always check they haven't spewed on the handbrake before you park up!
  3. This is Burt, taken pics recently at roughly 10 months old. Just starting to get him out with the Ferrets but he's not taken anything yet. Was told his breeding is Beddy Whippet Collie Greyhound when I bought him and while I'm no expert I reckon thats about right. Spot the Ferret... I know they're not amazing pics but there you go
  4. No, I wasn't meaning I thought Duke was the Sire to mine. He was an awesome looking dog though, wish I had a bit of cash and persuasion with the missus because I bet they make a good strong cross. I'll get some pictures up next time we go out (if thats ever possible with this horrible weather), let you see how the young team is getting on.
  5. Does your actual Xbox get blocked from Xbox Live then? They don't just ban your account?
  6. Yeh, bought a pup that came from the same Dam back in late April/early May. He's coming on well now, just started taking him out Ferreting. Duke didn't waste anytime did he, soon got her knocked up again!
  7. There's always one knob head isn't there, I'm sure I've got a spare medal for you somewhere if you want one. Thanks to everyone else, got a few cages out with straw and food in. Not got any traps so I'll just have to see how I get on.
  8. I think Badger must have figured out that I was going to have his balls removed tomorrow because he's performed a daring escape. Managed to track him to an overgrown area behind the cow sheds but I can't find him anywhere! Spent all afternoon looking for him and another hour before it went dark. Any advice on how to get him back would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Steve
  9. I'm getting his nuts off so I can keep him in with my Gill, if I get him vasectomised I've been told he'll still rag her round when she's in season and I would possibly have to keep them apart. The other reason is to try and keep his general smellyness down. Its not really a fortune, if it had been over £50 I wouldn't have bothered I don't think.
  10. Bargain, just shows how much profit some vets make
  11. Just thought I'd put up a few of the prices I got quoted by local vets yesterday. I phoned 3, the first (Dad's Vet) quoted £49.35 inc. VAT The other two quoted about £65.00 inc. VAT I'll get the VAT back on the first quote because we can class it as a working animal. It might only be a small amount saved but it'll buy a bag of James Wellbeloved and keep 'em happy If anybody is good friends with a farmer its always worth asking if you can go through their Vet, they'll give better quotes for account holders and (providing its a working animal) you can get the VAT back!
  12. Never did catch it, terrier men won't work in our area unless the den is in the valley bottom. The valley sides are too rocky and some blokes got a terrier stuck a while back, not sure if they got it back they just came round asking us to keep an eye out for it. Got a lad working in the area with the best job in the world. He's basically responsible for conservation in the area. He's been tidying the river up down our spot this year. He's well into his hunting and if we need anything sorting, if he can't do it, he finds somebody trustworthy who can.
