  1. class more of these pics would be cool to see
  2. Does the .308 shoot ok groups? I know they are off zero but are the rounds all shooting to the same place at least? Have a similar problem with my brothers rifle. I think dicehorn is on the money. Its a mount issue by the sounds of it. I am not familiar with saddleback mounts so excuse me if this seems stupid. Do the bases have screws on both sides or just one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF3LCwrN3HY look at this video, you can see the guy uses the screws on the mount bases to effect the left/right (windage) of the scope, long before he goes near the windage turret on th
  3. That's a belter of a bag. Going to get the measuring tape out when I go home and measure the rifle. Will probably order 2 I'd say. Thanks again, much appreciated Veg
  4. Save your money lad and put it into something else Don't get me wrong I love good glass but if the scope you have is leading to no misses and you are coping fine then any change is not necessary.
  5. Hey John have a look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composite_video If I had to bet I'd say the output of the Yukon is composite video. NTSC or PAL I don't know. I'd say read the manual that came with it to figure out/check what format it is outputting (may not be composite video but I'd say it is) and check is the DVR thingy is compatible with that format. Now looking at pics of the Yukon Digital Ranger on the net it is not quite clear what the outputs are, one looks like a normal 3.5mm jack and the other one looks weird. Any ideas if anything fits into that other connector,
  6. Hey John none of those links are working for me but that's a side issue anyway What sort of output is on the Yukon Digital Ranger? Is it standard S-Video. It looks like it. I may be missing what you're saying but would a laptop or PC with a video card work for you?
  7. The shooter was standing to my right and the fox approached from my left, shooter would have had to shoot through me to get him. If I had a shottie though he would have got nailed. You should see me duck scaring, I don't like to call it shooting as it belittles the skills of folk who can actually shoot You know what John I don't think you're too far wrong there. It is an awesome scope but its way too much for my needs. I was thinking of trading it for a lower value tactical style scope (falcon optics, bushnell elite, leupold something or other) and the leica laser range fin
  8. You just have em scared sh*tless John after last year. Was out Monday night and we saw 6 in one field. It was madness, they were running around like bloody rabbits. This is right beside our favourite duck pond so they need thinning. The battery is gone in my nightforce (left it on for 2 weeks straight ) so we took one of the lads .22wmr and he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. Two of them came in very close, one of them scared me as he came into 8 yards, I could see him with no lamp on. Oh to have brought the shotgun. The other lad came into 20 yards sat up straight and p
  9. I have an NXS 12-42x56 with NP-R2 I think it is reticle. Great scope but the image contrast is crap compared to lower mag and other branded scopes. Image is clear and sharp just very washed out colour wise, not the best thing for early morning or late evening shooting. Lower mag scopes could be better but I have no experience with them
  10. well if am talking shite phone your firearms dept and get your facts right i know its legal to use the shotgun at night do you think i wouldnt check it out first I think he's talking about the friend mentioned in the original post and not you lad
  11. What a result, good man, that's a beauty. It does exactly what I want at a price which is easy to swallow. Bloody good find. Any idea how long of a rifle it will take?? Thanks a million Veg
  12. I'd say he means which type of rest, a bipod style ala Harris or a target style one. Trying to get my cousin who is a tool maker to make me a target style rest. Not exactly sure what makes a good target rest though so don't know what specs and functions to include. Veg
  13. That's exactly the type of thing I am after. Perrrrrrrrfect Any dealings with the company? Any good customer service wise??
  14. Hey folks my brother has just got a 300 win mag (Remington action and barrel in an Accuracy International stock) I'd like to get him a double strap style drag bag for it as it weighs quite a bit. Might even get one myself if they were reasonable money wise. So anyone got one they'd recommend and where did they get them. Cheers, Veg.
  15. I use a Nightforce scope with a very thin reticle and without the illumination it would be useless at night. Lamping scope it aint. Brother has a Zeiss 7x50 with just the centre of the cross hairs illuminated and that's a great thing for early morning and late evening shooting without a lamp. Not needed for lamping though with his scope. As you say its all down to reticle thickness
