  1. He is looking good Keith, how did his season go ? Did you get him on the Pheasants as well ?
  2. Used a Farm at Kirby Stephen just otherside of the Pennines mate and the birds were good, but cant remember the name or number. Been using a guy at Penrith last 2 seasons
  3. Yes i use all my gundogs for bushing with my Lurcher, i also use them with friends Lurchers / Terriers with no problems. Like said above they have to be finished with their training and you have to be strict with the stop whistle.( especially with Spaniels which can easily loose there heads) I have a young Springer 8 mounth which i took on the last 2 days of the season, i will take her out bushing over the summer but will just treat it like an ordanary beating day and hunt her under control not letting her run riot with the other dogs.   4. I have seen 2 working while out shooting, both took more the the GWP, 1 being the same size as a ESS, the other exactly like a GWP. Both were good hunters of fur and feather, although 1 was a bit wild but that was down to the owner. neither pointed but both hit cover well and were excellent retrievers on land and water.
  5. Was on our shoot Sat, am beating / picking up over Cumbria tomo and our beaters days are this Friday and Saturday, bring it on

  17. Where have the other 3 posts gone ??? I sometimes wish she was a Fox red Lab stroller, ha ha But the last few week she has steped up her game, as well as our shoot she has been beating over Cumbria and Saturday she had about 100 birds in front of her, she was hunting through the bracken hard but kept her head and i was able to control her, so i cant complain at the minute. hily, i wont be training this pup, i gave it to my lad as his first gundog, so i will be training him to train her if you know what i mean, ha

  20. We had our biggest bag ever on Saturday 57, Our first and last days are more like rough shooting days taking ground game and birds. We keep out of the woods to let the pheasants mature a bit but still took 19 and along with some excellent Snipe, Ducks, Hares and 1 Woodcock the guns were real happy.

  23. Our first Driven day tommorow, the Pheasants seem to be holding well this year but the ducks have been very flighty and we have lost about half. Was up last night filling hoppers and feeding the pond, we will be having a duck Flight after for them that have any energy left.
