I started my Jacks going to ground about that age. If the dog is willing, I would give it a try on something easy for the first couple of times.

Howdy, and welcome to the forum. I have a few staghounds and trying to get them to stop chasing what ever they see is difficult, unless you are on a horse or in a truck beside them, even then, I find it a challenge. So if you ever figure it out, let me know too. I also had some difficulty with my terriers eating what they caught, though most outgrew this behaviour, but I did have one terrier that seemed to be insistent on eating what he caught, so I put him in a situation where there were several rats, and at first he tried to hold on to the first rat he caught, but then his hunti
