  3. Well I'd love some welly socks but turns out my wellies have been stolen. Last week some people broke into one of the sheds at my parents house and stole all our wellies apart from 2 odd ones My sister saw one by the road side about 5 miles away and apparently the police have recovered another pair. Police say it was likely some local gypsies but i've never been burgled before and I'm going shooting tomorrow wearing walking shoes now - not my lovely wellies. So my list is to have a left foot Aigle iso parcours size 14 (yeah I know - huge feet!)
  4. Thanks guys. Will have to have a think about how safe it is but might be able to bag a rabbit or two.
  5. Having got my shotgun my father has asked me whether I could take care of the rabbit problem in our garden. Garden is about 3 acres big. Bordered by fallow field, public area (football pitch) and the end of our neighbors garden. Trees and hedgerow between our garden and all of these, My question is - would I be OK to take out some rabbits if they came into my sights in the garden. Plenty of shooting round here so at sociable hours shouldn't distubr the neighbors but it's hardly the fields that you guys seem to ramble over when lamping!
  6. Haha Haven't named her yet - thanks for all the advice. Will take her out of the slip. The foam support came unstuck when I installed the cabinet so I'll need to restick that in. I obsessively cleaned it when i got it home. Just ordered some snap caps and some gun grease. I'll leave the slip somewhere warm and dry. Thanks all. Peter
  7. Just got my first shotgun (Lovely Beretta Silver Pigeon III) and i've got a couple of questions. I gave it a good clean and oil with my gun cleaning kit and it looks great. Can I leave the gun in it's slip in the cabinet? Could i put a VP90 sachet in the slip? Just seems a bit easier than putting the slip one place and leaving the gun in the cabinet. Thanks
  8. Having just taken possession of my first ever shotgun (a lovely Beretta Silver Pigeon III) i'm very keen to get back to the clays. Definitely booked in for my first bit of driven game at Christmas with a friend and trying to get some of my not shooting friends interested in hitting some clays. Cant wait!
  9. It arrived yesterday - now i can go and pick up my gun. A lovely Silver Pigeon III which has almost bankrupted me but it is lovely
  10. I live in Hertfordshire after not hearing for 2 weeks or so I gave them a call - arranged the meeting on the phone then that was 2 weeks ago - told me would take about 2 weeks to get the SGC, but it hasn't arrived in time for the game fair unfortunately
  11. The FAO came round to me today and was such a nice guy. Checked out the safe which was absolutely fine. Gave me some great advice and said 1-2 weeks for the license! Very Happy
  12. He's coming round to mine on Thursday!! Quite excited!
  13. Have to agree with the above - great to watch nature in front of you and shooting puts you in the right place to do it. I'd always stress the important part the sport plays to conservation when talking about it to non shooters.
  14. Speaking as a doctor I think there is a distinct distinction here. We all get stressed every now and again and it can manifest itself as physical symptoms. The fact that your anxiety was consistent with your exams shows that this is not a long term mental health issue. I imagine what they are concerned about people with histories of long term depression, especially with suicidal ideation and or more serious affective or psychotic mental illnesses (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar disorder). One episode 10 years ago of anxiety doesn't provide, to my mind as a doctor, any evidence that you'l
