Was it unlocked when you brought it ? And why update it ? ATB BB Yeah it was unlocked but had old software on which wouldn't be suitable to use with the T5 mini collars i wanted for the terriers and dachshunds.... couldn't get the maps on either Ive had these Garmin trackers since 2009/2010 from states ,never had problem till i bought 430 this year which is blocked but hopefuly will get it unblocked next week , but all the new T5 Mini work on my old sets just dont upgrade sets and any collar should work with them Did you manage to get you Astro 430 working deerman? Ive tried the lot ,vet wrap , inner tubes .protectors you can buy , best ive found is gaffer tape ,with sticky side turned back on its self on stopper then vics nose stuff smeared on it to stop the dog pulling it off , but if you want them to heal 100% the only answer is rest

Do you rate these mate ? I have had Garmin models for last 7 years maybe more ,bought the 430 not long back but cant get it down graded to work in UK so still using alpha 100 ,maybe time for change to make /model sold in UK

This is a hunting site and this is the place to discuss the goods and bads of lamps etc ,some of us are very passionate about hunting and to us its a way of life , if your not into this join a different site maybe ?and before you say it i prob deal with a life threatening crisis at least once a month but that goes with the job this is my real life .

You only see what you actually dont see with these lamps if you use thermal along side these lamps , until then like me you will think yes great little lamp ,good beam etc etc ,plus maybe it is my dogs but seasoned lamping dogs didn't seem to run the same with these lamps as with Striker / Blitz etc and their catch rate was down to normal
